User :   Hi, may I answer
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor: How can I help you today?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   I have a ear pain that has been going on for almost 2 months. It first started out as a ear infection and was on amox/clav antibiotics 800mg for 10 days and then a second round of antibiotics for 10 days both times with cipro ear drops. I went back to an ENT twice complaining of ear pain but he said it looks clear. It is just my left ear and it is a buning stinging pain
User :   it sometimes burns on the top of my head and in the back of my head
User :   this morning my throat hurts
User :   what the heck is wrong with me - is it serious?
User :   iam on ibuprofen 600mg twice a day
Doctor :   Do you have any fever?
User :   no
User :   my left ear also is ringing a bit
Doctor :   Do you have any dufficulty swallowing
User :   no it just feels sore on the left side in my throat
Doctor :   WHen was the treatment course ?
User :   about 4 weeks ago
Doctor :   Was it treated as otitis media
Doctor :   You have already treated for ear infection.
Doctor :   Again it look like a recurrence
User :   well at first yes but then the 2nd round of antibiotics that said that my ear canal was red
Doctor :   Did you finish the course
Doctor :   Let me tell you few
Doctor :   tips for treating
User :   I was just seen by a PA and she said that my ear canal was slightly red but otherwise looked great and yes I did take all my meds
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   You can continue another course of different ind of antibiotics
Doctor :   kind
User :   am i dealing with mastoid cancer or tumor
User :   i am a 26 male
Doctor :   If you are recurrently getting the symptoms, I recommend CT of mastoids and sinuses
Doctor :   That will find the cause whether you have any treatble cause
Doctor :   You are 26 yr so chances of cancer are very low
Doctor :   You might have adenoids
Doctor :   The main cause of otitis media is blockage of the Eustachian tube due to cold, allergy or some foreign particles in the ear.
Doctor :   So you need to treat allergies
User :   i do have allergies and take zyrtec
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   I have some tips
Doctor :   Put few drops of garlic juice into the infected ear. Use blow dryer from about 12 to 15 inches from your head, this will remove any water trapped in the Eustachian tube. Put some olive oil on the warm spoon; put 2 to 3 drops of this in each ear. Put few drops of lobelia extract into the infected ear and rub it gently. Wash your ear using colloidal silver, it is a natural antibiotic. Slightly warm one teaspoon of juice of the mango leaf and put it into the infected ear drop by drop. You could also use some hydrogen peroxide for the ears, however care should be taken not to use it for children.
Doctor :   2. Take vitamin C to boost your immune system, it will help you to combat infection. Increase Zinc intake, it reduces ear infection. Eat a healthy diet with lots of calcium in it. Avoid processed foods and hydrogenated oils. Stress on breast feeding for infection in infants.
Doctor :   3. Avoid going in front of any one smoking because cigarette smoke can block Eustachian tubes. Avoid accompanying people suffering from cold. Wash your hands regularly. Avoid touching nose and eyes.
User :   what could we possibly be looking for in the ct scan
Doctor :   To look for whether there is mastoiditis
Doctor :   Middle ear infection spread to mastoids
Doctor :   Usually there will be tenderness on mastoids
User :   and probably cancer or tumors - right?
Doctor :   but if you keep continues to have CT will look for any adenoids, Deviated Nasal septum
Doctor :   The probability of cancer is very low
Doctor :   You had infection and it was gotten better
Doctor :   Most probably it from exposure to cold and allergies
Doctor :   Do you have any other questions
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting
Doctor :\Bye
