Doctor :   hi
Doctor :
how can i help you?
Doctor :
please proceed with your health query
User :   hello sir, i am talking about my 2yrs daughter , previously also I had chat with u for her
Doctor :
ok
User :   sir, she has suffered cereberal ataxia, from july 17, it was detected and MRI scan has done to detect any mass formation or demyelination in cerebellum and it is found nothing
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
is she still on any medication?
User :   at that time she has taken deflaxacot 6mg , 15 days 1.5 tabs, then 7 days 1tab, 15 days 0.5 tab
Doctor :
yes
User :   no there is no medication now, but she still not able to stand for more than 3 minutes and walk
Doctor :
ok
User :   previuosly she was not able to sit but she has recovered around 60 to 70 %
Doctor :
is she on any physiotherapy?
User :   she is always walk with support
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
she is recovered almost 60-70% now
Doctor :
so there is hope and chance for more improvement
Doctor :
so what you can do is ask her pediatrician to refer for physiotherapy and gait support
User :   in the month of March 09, she had suffered from chicken pox and doctors says that it is because if antigen recation of that virus
Doctor :
they will help her in training her to walk properly and slowly wean off from using the suport
User :   I am asking , how much time she will take to full recover
Doctor :
yes, viral infections are known to cause post viral cerebellitis and cerebral inflammation
User :   previously it was told max 6 months but she still to be recovered
Doctor :
the time taken to recover completely varies from individual to individual
Doctor :
since she is a growing child, sher chances are pretty well
Doctor :
so with adequate supervision and training from physiotherapy
Doctor :
she will benefit faster and better
User :   kk sir, do we required any further investigation to diagnose any other posibility
Doctor :
i dont think any further investigations are required since she has already recovered 60-70%
Doctor :
so now only stimulation and supportive treatment should be enough to bring her slowly to normalcy
User :   in recently I also gone for again mri in last month which shows every thing normal
Doctor :   then it is just the inflammation that has to go away
Doctor :
and the nerve fibres lining has to come back to normal state to allow complete and full transmission of the signals
Doctor :
from brain to the concerned body parts
Doctor :
so that will happen faster with the physiotherapy support
Doctor :
as the nerve damage heals faster with continuos stimulation
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
User :   because some of doctor here administer for going thru testing of alpha feto protein, IGH, IGI to test the possibilities of checking telengteies, but there is no symptoms for telegeinsis
Doctor :
ok
User :   yes sir, what type of physiotherapy and what type may i know further abt it
Doctor :
sure i will help you with it
Doctor :
you can go ahead with the tests recommended if after a month or two months of physiotherapy has not shown any improvements
User :   sir, she is having more unstable when he wake up and taking time to stable
Doctor :
physiotherapy will help her in training her for gait after gait analysis to see what problem she is facing
User :   when she walk for some times she is again stable and walk independently for some times
Doctor :
the instability will be there till she recovers fully as the barin needs to recognise and remember the walking function
Doctor :
due to damage in nerve fibres, there will be delay in signal transfer and hence causing the delay
Doctor :   so take her for evaluation by a certified and registered physiotherapist
Doctor :
and see what modalities are suggested for her to improve
User :   sir , can she recover fully, if so how many time still required
Doctor :
we cannot specify the time for recovery
User :   in other aspect with regards to receiving, intelligence, and remembar capacity she is having very good
Doctor :
as i have told that each individual is different and it also depends on the type of damage
Doctor :
then in that case her problem is with 'motor function' which will take time and will surely improve with physiotherapy support
Doctor :
so take her for evaluation by a certified and registered physiotherapist and see what modalities are suggested for her to improve
User :   can u suggest any physiotherapist to whom i can contact
Doctor :   i will try. please give me your location details
User :   in , but if i will get best doctor i can move there for treatment

Doctor :
now coming to your query on ataxia telangiectasia
Doctor :
it is a neurodegenerative, inherited disease that affects many parts of the body and causes severe disability
Doctor :   it affects the cerebellum that is the body's motor coordination control center and also weakens the immune system in about 70% of the cases, leading to repeated respiratory disorders and increased risk of cancer
Doctor :   it appears in early childhood (the toddler stage) with symptoms such as lack of balance, slurred speech, and increased infections.
Doctor :   along with these prominent blood vessels in the whites of the eyes (telangiesctasias) usually occur by the age of 5 years
Doctor :   and usually there is no mental retardation seen in these children
Doctor :
it runs in family as autosomal recessive disorder, so in a family with both parents who are carriers of the gene causing this, there is 1 chance in 4 that each child born to the parents will have the disorder.
Doctor :   the diagnosis is done by doing serum AFP level, seeing the response of white blood cells to X-rays and measurement of the level of ATM protein
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said?
Doctor :
are you there?
User :   yes sir
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said?

Doctor :   Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   in my child not a single symtoms accept the ataxia. I am feared actually when doctors here told me that, even my family history or family histroy of my spouse , even i have not marry any type of relation
Doctor :   do not worry
Doctor :
there is a clear history of viral infection
Doctor :
and she developing the symptoms after the infection
Doctor :
so it is post viral cerebellitis
Doctor :
she is recovering
Doctor :
we have to support her recovery with physiotherapy support
Doctor :
for faster and better redovery
Doctor :
