User :   Hey,
My uncle had a brainstroke 3 days ago on his left side of the brain. He now can move his left hand (not right) & understand us. However, he has a severe Aspiral Pneumonia, so the doctors have put him on Meronem + other Antibiotic.
He used to have a low urination , then it got up higher , then it went back down again today. He had almost no fevers.
Now, the doctors won't say anything definitive, they were like it's a miracle he's alive till now.
They have stopped the Meronem, they looks desparate.
I need to know what can we do to fix that. Can we transport him? If you need any medical records, i can get them.
Doctor :   May i know his age?
User :   55
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Was he suffering from high BP?
User :   No
User :   but he was feverish
Doctor :   ok
User :   42
Doctor :   about the treatment for stroke
Doctor :   treatment varies according to the underlying cause of the stroke, thromboembolic(ischemic) or hemorrhagic.
User :   the stroke is progessing fine now
Doctor :   Is he able to speak now?
User :   no
User :   but he can smile

Doctor :   he is on antibiotics now?
User :   3 days, 10 days ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Ok
User :   He used to be on some
Doctor :   Did they do a blood culture and sensitivity?
User :   then after the XRay & they found the Aspiral pneumonia, they put him on Meronem
Doctor :   Probably when after stroke he might have aspirated his stomach contents or while feeding

Doctor :   ok
User :   no , they said we will have to stop the ABs for 3 days before we can get a sample
User :   that's true yes
User :   the problem that it's a very bad pneumonia
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Stroke takes time to recover
User :   I now worry more about the pneumonia, not the stroke
Doctor :   Stroke rehabilitation is the process by which the patients with disabling strokes undergo treatment to help them return to normal life as much as possible by regaining and relearning the skills of everyday living
User :   My question is specific, how long should it take
Doctor :   in stroke rehabilitation
User :   Dr. I am talking about the Pneumonia, can you help me with that ?
Doctor :   A rehabilitation team is usually multidisciplinary as it involves staff with different skills working together to help the patient. These include nursing staff, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and usually a physician trained in rehabilitation medicine
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   OK
User :   So ?
User :   hello ?
Doctor :   yes sure
Doctor :   Go ahead please
User :   Why are you still talking about the Stroke
User :   I am now taling about the Pneumonia
User :   & how should be the progress & is it correct just to stop the Meronem just for the sake of the money (it's expensive)
Doctor :   The pneumonia part will be treated with antibiotics
Doctor :   No,we cant stop antibiotics
Doctor :   if there is infection
User :   How dangerous it is , because of his heart
User :   They've stopped only the Meronem
Doctor :   Is his blood count elevated?
User :   What's the blood count ?
Doctor :   are they using any other antibiotics now
User :   yes
User :   but weeker
User :   weaker ones
Doctor :   Ok
User :   so how long would it take ?
Doctor :   Did they do culture of blood
User :   giving his heart condition
Doctor :   It depends on the organism infecting the lungs
User :   no thy said they have to stop the ABs for 3 days before they can take a sample (is that true by the way ? )
User :   Aspiral
User :   prbably something from the food
User :   or mucus
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   probably from aspiration of food
User :   & How long would it take ?
Doctor :   MInimum 2 weeks

User :   yes
Doctor :   ok
User :   so ? yes with his heart condition ?
Doctor :   So that will again halt the cure
