User :   Hi for the last three years I have had swollen glands in my groin come and go usually about every 5 to 6 months sometimes two at a time are tender and painful should i be concerned?

User :   no not really.. but there has been some near the pubic are

if there is a boil and gland is swollen it is called acute lynphadenitis
User :   i was wondering should i be concerned about hiv? but i heard with hiv you will swell all over arm pits and neck and i have not had that

in hiv the glands swollen is described as PERSISTENT GENERALIZED LYNMPADENOPATHY
Doctor :   means once the glands swell it will not disappear

you need a course of antibiotics during the time when the glands is swollen

when ever there is infection you will have the glands swollen and once the infection is treated with the appropriate medicines the glands will subside
User :   i just dont understand why i have so many affections

Doctor :   it is normal to have infections and not only you every body do get the infections

if you are afraid that you are suffering from the hiv infection than you can get a HIV DNA PCR analysis blood test done to know whether you have been infected or not

with the above description i dont think you have the hiv
