Bye for now
How can I help you today?
I was looking for some advice from a Dermatologist
My wife has developed some rashes on the inside of the elbow for soemetime
itching is also there
I am a general physician
I can help you within my expertise
For how long does she have the lesion?
Are you there?
its actually about a month and a half
Can you describe the lesion?
Like how it looks
Is there some secretion from it?
can I send a picture?
Send it at YYYY@YYYY
ok...give me a min
missed the attachment in first mail...sent another one with picture attached
I will let you know whenever I receive the pics
Till then we can talk about the details of the lesion
Has she tried something about it
not really...just that she applies Boroplus at times
Any idea about its cause?
Does it get better with something?
it first happened sometime in March/April when she was in Jaipur.....it healed automatically at that time..
she moved to Bangalore 2 months back and then developed it again...this time it's not healing..
And its in the flexor crease of the elbow?
yes, both hands
How bad is the itching?
I guess you would have got the attachment now...
sometimes its bad...but otherwise mild only
hi Doc, have you received the attachment?
No not yet
Usually it takes a few min
I have seen the reports in the query sent by you
I think it is Lichen
The more you itch, the worse it gets
Thus the mainstay is to stop the itching
It can be done with steroidal cream like betnovate
It needs to be applied upto 2 - 3 times a day
or only if she has itching
Are you there?
The more you itch, the worse it gets - yes in terms of itching
so shall she apply betnovate 2-3 times a day?
So that is what it is
She will get better
Only she needs to avoid itching
It may recur again
ok...the cream has to be applied only upon itching....or generally 2-3 times a days
Again she will need to repeat the process
only upon itching
Routine use is not recommended
ok...what's the permanent remedy? :)
as it may cause thinning of skin
There is no premanent remedy
our immunity deals with it
Till then steroidal cream helps
ok, will start applying the cream then
Just one more thing
Do you wish to continue with the query
yes, it would be great if some dermatologist can also take a look :)
is that fine?
Will do that
Thanks for coming on chat
