2 days ago I described a rash I have on my scrotum and the doc prescribed a cream with micanazole nitrate it seems to be making it worse
Doctor :   hello
Doctor :   i am Dr XXX here
Doctor :   let me read your query give me a min please
User :   2days ago I DESCRIBED A RASH ON MY SCROTUM THE DOC PRESCRIBED MICANAZOLE NITRATE IN A CREAM. IT SEEMS TO BE IRRITATING AND NOT HELPING
Doctor :   can you tell me more about the rash ?
User :   iTS CONFINED TO 2 AREAS AT THE TOP OF MY SCROTUM ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER EACH AND IS NOT SPREADING IT ITCHES AND WHEN I SCRATCH IT SWELLS UP PREPERATION H PROVIDES SOME TEMP RELIEF BUT THATS ALL
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   well if the cream is making it worse then i would suggest you to stop applying it immediately
Doctor :   may i know you age ?
User :   I HAVE BUT IT WAKES UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT SCRATCHING
User :   I AM 50
Doctor :   ok now i want you to do few things
Doctor :   first keep your genital area clean
Doctor :   and after a shower make sure you dry it properly
User :   i HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE AND MANAGED IT WITH HYDROCORTZONE BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP ANYMORE
User :   OKAY
Doctor :   and then you should apply lotramin AF
Doctor :   its a cream you can get at your local pharmacy without a prescription
User :   TRIED THAT IT DIDN'T WORK
Doctor :   Wash the affected area with soap and water. Dry the area with a clean towel by gently patting the area. Use a blow dryer set on cool to completely dry the affected area.
Doctor :   Bathe daily and change your clothing after strenuous activity.
User :   i ALSO TRIED SEVERAL OVER THE COUNTER JOCK ITCH SPRAYES
Doctor :   Purchase apple cider vinegar or tea tree oil, both natural anti fungal agents, at a local grocery or natural foods store
User :   OKAY BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS
Doctor :   if none of these things have worked then i would suggest you to see a dermatologist and there a laboratory swab will be taken and examined
Doctor :   it does sounds fungal infection in nature as per your symptoms but some fungal infections are notorious to not go by over the counter medications
Doctor :   for that a swab test is done and the exact cause is then determined and then appropriate medications can be prescribed
User :   THANKS I'LL TRY THE TEA TREE OIL
Doctor :   do you have anythother health problems?
User :   NO THANKS AGAIN
Doctor :   it also can be a allergic reaction so do do change your bedding and wear lose clothings in the night
Doctor :   you are most welcome
Doctor :   is there anything else i can help you with ?
User :   i CHANGE MY BEDDING TWICE AWEEK AND SLEEP NUDE
Doctor :   it does then implies more to a fungal infection . once the test results are out then the right anti fungals medications can be prescribed
User :   THANKS
Doctor :   you can apply some calamine lotion that will ease the itch
Doctor :   till you go to the dermatologist
User :   OKAY
Doctor :   your welcome
