User :   Hi, I had sex with a girl on March 20th 2010. Shortly after I found out she was pregnant and that she had a new partner. I asked her due date which she told me was the 1st Feb 2011. She recently gave birth on the 25th Jan 2011. I was wondering if the baby in anyway could be mine, Many Thanks.
Doctor :   hello
Doctor :   when was her last period ?
User :   i'm not sure to be honest.
Doctor :   well its almost impossible to tell in this way as the dates are always approx and the date of fertilization cannot be found out , that is the reason we have paternity tests for it
Doctor :   as it can be in april
User :   i did an online conception calculator which came back as a due date of around december 11th 2010. She gave birth 45 days after this date. I was wondering if there is anyway possible.
Doctor :   the due date is a APPROX
Doctor :   and yes variations are normal
User :   if her hospital scan gave her a due date of feb 1st could it really be 6-7 weeks wrong?
Doctor :   we have what we call as PREMATURE OR POST MATURE CHILD BIRTH
Doctor :   so both ways it can be
User :   can a baby really be 6-7 weeks overdue?
Doctor :   yes sure it can
Doctor :   was it a normal delivery ?/
Doctor :   or c section ?
User :   ok, its just i thought mosts hospital would only let you go around 14 days overdue, normal delivery.
Doctor :   yes thats correct we dont allow more than 2 weeks for a normal
Doctor :   the only way to be sure a paternity test
Doctor :   i hope you do understand
Doctor :   i mean yes we can make approximations
Doctor :   but its not 100%
