User :   Hi I have a very dark purple bruise-like mark on my upper bottom that won't go away. It has not changed in colour and I can't explain why it got there. I also have a very similar smaller mark on my thigh, also purple, also no change in colour and won't go away/fade. What is this? Should I go seek help?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hello
Doctor :   May i know since when is the lesion there ?
User :   probably a couple of weeks
Doctor :   Do you have itching or pain over the lesion ?
User :   None at all, no pain or itching
Doctor :   I consider it be a contusion , wait for few more days if it do not go off or it is increasing in size rapidly then you may need to consult the dermatologist
Doctor :   or even a insect bite also can present this way
User :   OK - I was just concerned it could be something to do with my blood?? As i give blood/platelets regularly and also have recently had LEEP procedure
Doctor :   yes, it could be due to the same
User :   Ok so just wait another little while then go to doctor?
Doctor :   the blood while needle insertion or removal can seep into the layers of the skin and present contusion like lesion
Doctor :   yes, i think it will go off within a week from now, if it is due to blood drawing procedure
User :   Ok thank you for your help
Doctor :   you are welcome
