User :   since real food has vitamins as well, it raises a concern that one can have toxity. too much of a good thing is bad.

Doctor :   ok now you are right that real food also has vitamins INFACT they are the best kind as they come from a natural source, and also as physician we recommend that if you are having a good healthy diet then all you need is just ONE pill of the multivitamins
User :   meal 1: fortified cereal or 2 eggs and wheat toast. meal 2: peanuts or something healthy maybe an apple meal 3: chicken with frozen veggies cooked Meal 4: another healthy snack above and meal 5: lean ground beef with salad or veggies.

User :   what about optimum health and loss of nutrients in cooking and toxity and so forth
Doctor :   the excess vitamins are usually discarded by the body, in urine and feces
User :   the recommended clinical therapeutic dose reads 2 capsules up to 3 times daily
User :   why would the ccn of the vit include such statement
Doctor :   multivitamins are usually recommended for people with low immunity or whose diet is not balanced
Doctor :   these are over the counter and the dose they recommend will certainly wont cause a overdose even if you are eating well
Doctor :   its just your body just throws it out what it does not need
Doctor :   having more than the recommended dose ca cause over dose
User :   how do you explain the folic acid from coenzyme calcium folinate of 500 mcg when the National Academy of Sciences recommends 1000 mcg
User :   per Katz MD MPH he states too much folic acid can cause colon cancer
Doctor :   those are when women are told to take folic acid tablets during pregnancy as it helps in proper growth of the fetus
Doctor :   when you over dose on them it can cause side effects

User :   so even if i take 4 pills a day i am not risking long term side effects?
Doctor :   and if you are healthy and taking good care then you dont need extra supplements
