User :   my father has high blood pressure
Doctor :   ok
User :   he was hypertensive for some years now
User :   to 140-150 systolic
User :   but two months ago, when my mother died
User :   he was for some days to 200-220

User :   he took approvel-avapro 150mg for about 6 weeks
Doctor :   it is normal for the BP to shoot up due to stress of emotional distess
User :   and metoprolol 100mg
User :   ok
User :   on friday
User :   he still had
User :   190-200
User :   so i call a doctor to the home
Doctor :   ok
User :   he prescribed aprovel 300mg +25mg hct+ norvasc 10mg+ metoprolol 100mg
User :   he is now, to 110 -120
User :   some times 100
Doctor :   ok so now he is back to good controlled levels now
User :   this is good , i know
User :   but im a little bit worried
User :   about the drugs
User :   arent they too much?

Doctor :   High BP needs a combinaiton of meds to control them in cases where they are very high

User :   is there something i must have in mind. side effects of hypotension for example?
User :   i think that when the diuretic was added he is tired
Doctor :   low BP can cause dizziness, blackouts, etc and loss of conciousness
Doctor :   it cause low potassioum and this causes fatigue

User :   so i must worry about high blood pressure and not the pills...

Doctor :   make sure that u monitor the BP regularly and it is well in control
