Doctor :   Let me brief you now.
Doctor :   Based on the your symptoms, I shall sequence you the pathology, that may have happened.
User :   Ok
Doctor :   1. It probably seems that you developed an ear inflammation.
Doctor :   Ear inflammation of the middle ear, referred to in medical terms as otitis media.
Doctor :   This explains the ringing sensation, muffling of hearing sound, the dizziness that you had.
Doctor :   Apart from these symptoms, the other common symptoms in this condition is fullness of the affected ear.
Doctor :   Do you have this symptoms too?
User :   bo
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   no
User :   ear doesnt feel full
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   That's fine.
Doctor :   Middle ear and inner ear is closely linked with facial nerve.
User :   ok
Doctor :   an inflammation in the middle ear can lead to facial nerve palsy, described as Bell's palsy.
Doctor :   Crooked mouth, watering of the eye, inability to close the eyes are the symptoms of facial nerve weakness ( referred to as Bells palsy).
User :   ok so how do i know it's not parkinson's disease
User :   that my main worry
User :   that is bugging me so bad it's making me sick
Doctor :   Parkinson's disease is a condition where classically there are 3 symptoms
Doctor :   1. Tremors
Doctor :   2. Stiffness of joints
Doctor :   3. Slowness in physical activities(described as bradykinesia in medical terms)
Doctor :   Though you report of tremors, which can occur secondary to steroid therapy and anxiety,
Doctor :   you don't have the other symptoms.
User :   ok slowness in physical activities meaning
User :   just moving slow?
Doctor :   No, not just moving slow.
Doctor :   all your activities are very slow.
User :   oh so my typing would be very slow right
Doctor :   Yes, definitely, your typing skills will be slow.
Doctor :   Wrist will feel tight.
User :   Ohh..
Doctor :   Described as rigidity(stifness)
User :   See doctor, this is what scared me, is I understand the bell's palsy but I just dont understand why I am sooo off balanced when i EX: get up, turn around, switch ways that I am walking
Doctor :   The other factors that are against the diagnosis of parkinson's disease are
User :   Ok proceed
Doctor :   1. Your age - they commonly occur in middle and elderly aged individual.
User :   Ok..
Doctor :   2. Symptoms are gradual and progressing nature where the symptoms are seen for months together
Doctor :   All these 3 factors are against the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.
Doctor :   Have you followed with my opinion?
User :   yes
User :   So, do you feel as if I am worrying to much about what it could be wrather than what it actually is?
Doctor :   Yes,
User :   and it's giving me anxiety along with the prednisone etc.
Doctor :   Yes, the tremors that you have are more due to the anxiety and the medication.
Doctor :   Since you haven't met an ENT specialist,
Doctor :   I would suggest you to consider consulting an ENT surgeon.
User :   Ok what can they tell me
Doctor :   he will evaluate your ear, and will definitely tell you if something serious in your ear.
Doctor :   most often middle ear pathologies are treated with medical drugs
Doctor :   Very few may need surgical intervention or an OPD procedure.
User :   so the ENT could definitaly rule that it's bells palsy
Doctor :   Treating the ear pathology with the steroid therapy along with the physiotherapy that I had mentioned to you in the previous chat will solve all your problems.
Doctor :   Bell's palsy is confirmed, and you are on the right treatment for it.
Doctor :   The ENT evaluation is to find the root cause why the Bell's palsy happened, if at all there is one.
User :   you cant die from bell's palsy right
Doctor :   and the root cause is definitely not an intracranial one that you fear off.
Doctor :   Bell's palsy is a localised condition which will not lead you to death.'
User :   thank you sorry i just feel alone and the need to talk to somebody as this has been a major shock on me and i just feel very nervous and scared.
Doctor :   You need not be scared off.
Doctor :   I can understand what is going through.
Doctor :   Infact most patient behave the same, untill they get recovered.
User :   alright cool
Doctor :   Keep your BP monitored while on the steroid therapy, get to see an ENT surgeon is the best thing that you can do now.
User :   steroid theropy is the prednisone right
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Prednisone is a steroid.
Doctor :   This will be tapered and stopped slowly.
User :   its the pack where like.....
User :   6 on the 1st day....5 on the 2nnd...4 on the 3rd....3 on the 4th......2 on the 5th...1 on the 6th
User :   ya kno
Doctor :   That is the regular schedule of prescribing a tapered dose of steroid.
Doctor :   You should do better with these medication, the physiotherapy and treatment of the ear condition.
User :   Ok thanks doctor!
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
