Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr xxxx here
Doctor :   How can i help you?
User :   Hello Doc, I have a cut on my face (cheek) which has some pus filled in it. I am able to squeeze out some pus, but it pains really bad
User :   Also, the area has a lot of swelling
User :   What should I take to dry the pus ? and relieve it.
Doctor :   Since when are you having the cut?Is the cut inside the mouth or outside?
User :   No, outside on the cheek
User :   since last 2 days
User :   I have been cleaning it with betadine/dettol
Doctor :   Is there any boil on it?.
User :   Boil, as in formation of a head ?
Doctor :   It seem like a bacterial or a viral infection as it has pus inside it.
User :   There was a head formed, but then I punctured it and squeezed out the pus, but then it formed again and there's a lot of swelling around it
Doctor :   Do not squeeze it as it may cause the infection to spread.
User :   Okay, so what should I do 'bout it.
User :   ...
Doctor :   You may need to get it examined by a general surgeon who may incise it with proper sterilization and also after that some antibiotics may be required so that the infection does not spread.
Doctor :   Also some other medications which may help in drying
User :   Well the wound is not that big, just a small blister like a cut after a shave.
Doctor :   Ok, was it caused after shaving?
User :   Well, I suspect so, because I shaved a few days ago, and it might have been caused because I went out in the rain or somethin'...
Doctor :   1)You can apply Neosporin powder on it 3 times a day.
User :   Okay....
Doctor :   2)Apply Povidone ointment twice.
Doctor :   3)Keep the area clean by washing with Dettol
Doctor :   4)Do not touch as it may spread the infection
Doctor :   5)Also can apply Teat Tree oil over it, it helps to prevent spread of infection.
Doctor :   *Tea Tree Oil
