User :   dear doctor, my father has been diagnosed mild hydrouretor nephrosis in KUB USG. His PSA test result has been 11.8. kindly advice.

Doctor :   does he have any other problems healthwise?
User :   recently he has undergone surgery for CA colon, in which ceacum was removed thru' hemi colectomy, he has also undergone 1st chemo on 20th June. since then he was having severe diareahha and has been running under antibiotics before this tests were done. he has been urinating without any trouble till 17th july. his prostates weigh 28 gm.

User :   the size of the prostates is constant for last 5 years

Doctor :   it can increase in several other conditions
Doctor :   as he was operated for colon cancer
User :   in USG, he is also dignosed as mildly thickened bladder valve

User :   Not since 17th July. the tests were done on 18th.

Doctor :   does he have any other complaints as of now?
User :   he was having pain initiating the urine on 17th to 19th. now, he has to pass urine every 1-1.5 hours.

Doctor :   i suggest that he get an usg abdomen done
User :   USG / CT scan of whole abdomen was done on 12th june, and it was normal except mild swelling on lower right kidney and enlarged prostates.

User :   28 gms

User :   28 gms for last 4-5 yrs

User :   i could not understand, clinically?

Doctor :   the PSA levels might not be significant
Doctor :   as they may rise following hemicolectomy
User :   rectal examination was done during the process of diagnosis of ca colon. nothing mentioned

User :   do you suggest repeat psa tests, or usg after some period?
Doctor :   i suggest that he get evaluated after a month
Doctor :   get psa done
Doctor :   and get a clinical examination
User :   what does thickened bladder valve mean?
Doctor :   it may signify any infection
Doctor :   i suggest that you get a Complete Urine examinatiom
Doctor :   done also
Doctor :   the bladder difficulty may be due to infection
User :   does he need any antibiotics to rule out this and frequent urination. his urine C&S was normal and all other paramters in normal range
User :   currently his serum K and serum Ca are running low

Doctor :   is he taking any supplements?
User :   there was salt imbalance due to diarhhea.

Doctor :   does he have any burning sensation in the urine?
User :   he is taking potklor and shelcal 500 twice a day
User :   no burning sensation

User :   no pain currently, only frequent urination
