User:Good morning Doctor
User:i have a prolonged cough, this my problem
Doctor:May I know your age?
Doctor:Since when are you having this cough?
User:past 2 to 3 month
User:please kindly advise me to recover from these
Doctor:Is it a dry cough?
Doctor:Does it increase or reduce with any time of the day?
User:some times some mucus is secreted and while swallowing, cough coming
User:yes, in some times it getting reducing and after 1 or 2 days it keep on increasing ...

User:Ya , sure i will anwer
User:No blood stains while mucus secreted,
Doctor:Does it worsen in the evening/night?
Doctor:Do you have fever, sorethroat, nasal congestion, headache, etc?
User:If i were in office , i was feel better good , but in night and evening it getting started,
User:No symptoms as of now as fever, sorethroat and headache
Doctor:How is your appetite? - has it reduced?
Doctor:Do you feel you've lost weight? - If yes, by how much?
User:means body weight ..?
Doctor:By appetite I mean, do you feel less hunger and feeding is reduced??
User:Yes, i am not able to take food in proper , feeding is reduced
User:my body weight is 47 to 49 varies is constant for long years

User:As of now i am taking some ayurveda medicines for curing these cough for past 1 month

User:Blood test, x-ray , followed by lung test (spirometry) and ENT test for any sinus problems ..all were negative

Doctor:Chronic cough lasting for more than 2 months is a worrying problem.
Doctor:Important causes that can be suspected in you are allergic / viral bronchitis and pulmonary tuberculosis.
Doctor:Negative blood tests and X-ray rules out tuberculosis.
Doctor:In such cases, the treatment given as as follows:
Doctor:1. Oral tablets consisting of antihistamines, mast cell stabilizers.
Doctor:2. Cough syrups like Syp. Tus Q
Doctor:3. If the bouts of cough are very severe, salbutamol inhalers can be useful.
Doctor:4. In addition to these deep steam inhalation, warm water and ginger preparation are useful.
Doctor:As a physician with restricted knowledge about your current ayurveda medicines, so I cannot comment if those medicines are effective and when the effects can be seen.
Doctor:However the above mentioned treatment can reduce the symptoms and it should be resolved in 2-3 weeks time.
User:does this tablet name antihistamines & mast cell stabilizers .?
Doctor:So if you are not happy with your current medications, I suggest you to consult your local physician and get a prescription for the above medications.
