User :   i am taking premolut n 5 mg. for delaying my period and now i need to take amoksiklav 625 mg. (antibiotic) for my sinus infection. Is that ok to take both of them? or any side effect?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   hi, my name is Nat
Doctor :   yes you can take them together
Doctor :   there is no interaction between them
User :   ok because i remembered one time i have yeast infection and i need the pill for that and the doctor told me i cant take antibiotic because the medicine for yeast infection wont work.
User :   and i thought premolut n is birth control pill so it wont work well if i take anti biotic??
Doctor :   yeah, you must have taken fluconazole
User :   yes back then
User :   and i thought premolut n is birth control pill so it wont work well if i take anti biotic??
Doctor :   that does decrease the effect of some drugs including oral contaceptives and hormonal medications
Doctor :   premolut is a hormone containing pill
Doctor :   so taking with fluconazole, will reduce the efficasy as fluc,, does increase the drug metabolism
Doctor :   and reduce its action
User :   so i just want to make sure if it's ok to take both of them. and both of them still work well or not decrease the effect of the pills. because i ll go on vacation this friday so i dont want to have my period and have sinus infection in the same time. :)
Doctor :   you can take premolut with amoxicillin
Doctor :   as amox.. does not stimulate the drug metabolism as fluconazole does
Doctor :   taking both of them, will not affect the action of the other medicaiton
User :   ok. thank you so i feel better that it wont efect each other
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me here
Doctor :   bye for now
Doctor :   have a great day
User :   thank you
