Doctor :   hello
User :   I a male 33 india married for 2 yrs. And we want to go family way from last 6 months or something.
Doctor :   may i know your age please ?
User :   33
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   well your semen report is normal
Doctor :   so how long have you been trying ?
User :   6 months
Doctor :   are you doing it during your wife during her fertility period
Doctor :   as that time the chances are the maximum
Doctor :   well i can assure you one thing that 6 months is a less time to diagnose any problem with infertility , the correct duration of time is 1 year. its only after ONE FULL year then if she does not conceive then its can be tested
User :   i am not sure about the fertility period, pls help me on that
Doctor :   sure i will guide you
Doctor :   fertile period is the time during which having sexual intercourse could lead to a pregnancy. Begin counting on the first day of your menstrual period. Women normally ovulate about 14 days from the first day of their period, although this varies considerably from woman to woman.
Doctor :   fertile period starts about 4-5 days before ovulation, and ends about 24-48 hours after it. This is because sperm can live in your body for approximately 4 to 7 days, and the egg can live for 24 to 48 hours after being released.
User :   fine
Doctor :   your wife is most fertile on the days before ovulation and the day of ovulation. Knowing her fertile days can help you increase the chances of getting pregnant
User :   looks like sperm count is too low as also confirm by pathologist
User :   what u say
Doctor :   its on borderline
Doctor :   do you smoke ?>
Doctor :   or consume alcohol ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Refrain from habits like smoking, alcohol consumption etc. - Alcohol affects your liver function, which, in turn, causes a dramatic rise in estrogen levels. Even two drinks a day will have long-term effects on sperm production
User :   occational alcohal usually once in 2-3 months
Doctor :   smoking is a known cause for low sperm production
User :   i see
Doctor :   Eat Nutritious Food - Diet that's low in fat, and high in protein, vegetables, and whole grains is good for your health and for your sperm. Avoid bitter, astringent and spicy foods.Reduce caffeine intake
Doctor :   Wear loose, cotton boxer shorts, Avoid hot baths and saunas
Doctor :   Make love in the early morning or afternoon. Sperm levels are often highest in the mornings.
User :   can it be incresed by medication or some vitamin supplements?
Doctor :   1. Red peppers, carrots, oatmeal, dried apricots. The vitamin A in these foods help grow healthy sperm.
Doctor :   Asparagus, snow peas, cooked tomatoes, strawberries. The vitamin C in these foods affect sperm motility and viability. Vitamin C and vitamin A are found in many of the same foods: red peppers, sweet potatoes, yellow veggies and fruits.
Doctor :   i REPEAT Stop smoking because smoking significantly decreases both sperm count and sperm-cell motility
Doctor :   Maintain a healthy weight: Not too under or overweight since weight influences estrogen and testosterone levels.
Doctor :   Eat well, get hydrated and sleep well. Malnutrition and anemia can negatively affect your sperm count.
User :   any vitamine supplement advisable?
Doctor :   Folic acid
Doctor :   you can get them from your local pharmacy
User :   how long it'll take to reach normal count level.
Doctor :   it will takes 3- 4 weeks
Doctor :   if you follow the advice properly
User :   I have recently got my wife examined too, and looks like she having some cysts in overies. is it something which is not letting her to conceive?
Doctor :   yes that can be a reason but usually small cysts dont really effect
Doctor :   the gynecologist can guide you better on that
User :   up to what sized cysts can be ignored
Doctor :   it depends on trhe size and al;so the location and number, and sometimes just medications can cure it
