I have a sinus infection/virus including pink eye. I've been taking advil cold and sinus for 5 days and for the past two I've had smelly vaginal discharge. Could they be related?
Doctor :   hello
User :   hello
Doctor :   may i know your age and gender please ?
User :   I'm 39 and female. Married, two kids
User :   I haven't had sexual intercourse in over two weeks and I just finished my cycle 4 days ago
Doctor :   do you have any other medical condition ?
User :   nothing serious. I'm on effexor and synthroid
Doctor :   can you tell me the color of discharge ?
User :   its fairly clear and quite liquidy - could feel it almost like when I have my period 'gush'
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   well let me now explain to you the tow conditions
User :   perfect
Doctor :   well you do have sinus infection, for which of course advil will give only temporary relief, now when we have a infection our body defense mechanism goes in full gear towards it and try to fight it, thats where when we take antibiotics it kinda help the body to fight, since you already had a infection for 5 days it makes your body prone to other infections a
Doctor :   and the smelly vaginal discharge which otherwise would have been taken care of by the body cell by it self but did not as the body was fighting the other infection
Doctor :   now dont worry both are NOT serious
User :   ok. Is there anything I should do or just wait it out?
Doctor :   and all you need to do is get a urine test so that we can diagnose the organism causing it and you can be prescribed antibiotics for it
User :   So I should go see my family Dr?
Doctor :   you do need to be on antibiotics . 5 days is a long duration, so its better to take the course
Doctor :   yes your family doc will be able to prescibe you
Doctor :   prescribe **
User :   Is it probably a bladder infection or vaginal infection?
Doctor :   a vaginal discharge suggest more towards a vaginal infection
Doctor :   do you have any burning sensation during urination ?
User :   no
Doctor :   or the frequency in the day to pee has increased ?
User :   nope. Just the putrid smelling discharge
Doctor :   then its most probably vaginal
Doctor :   well dont worry the antibiotics will take care of it
User :   Thank you, will call my Dr. and get on something. Appreciate the advice
User :   Thank you very much. Will go see my Dr.
Doctor :   your most welcome
Doctor :   take care
Doctor :   have a nice day
Doctor :   good bye
