User :   I have a slightly elevated Mean Platelet Volume count. Now I have noticed tiny red pin head spots on my chest and legs. Could these two be a related condition?

User :   Just a few some joint pain and feeling tired.

User :   No.
Doctor :   and why did you got your blood profile taken ?
User :   I was a firefighter and they require a complete cbc when we get our physicals.

Doctor :   and how high was the variation ?
User :   They told me it was only slightly elevated and to keep a watch on it. That was in 2009.

Doctor :   well the red pin spots you have been having
Doctor :   are they growing in number ?
User :   I have noticed more. They are not clustered. Just spread out in areas on my chest and both upper thighs. People have told me this could be a sign of leukemia. That's what I am worried about.
Doctor :   well usually a leukemia when symptomatic will not come as this

Doctor :   such spots are usually mild capillary out burst that are completely normal

User :   I will schedule a appt for another cbc to see if the mpv has increased. Thank you for your time.

User :   hgb was normal.
Doctor :   ok and did you for your thyroid tested too ?
User :   yes thyroid was also normal. Many years ago they thought I had Lupus due to joint pain but the creatine level was normal ra factor normal.
