User :   hello i am a 23 year old male, with various symptoms
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
User :   I've been in and out of the ER about 4 times in past month or so and i still dont feel good
Doctor :   can u elaborate your symptoms ?
User :   first i was diagnosed with labyrinthitis and given meclizine and augmentin then i was diagnosed with sinus infection and given azithromycin
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   so have u had any relief ?
Doctor :   Do u have any nose blocks ?
User :   then had blurry vision in left eye along with neck pains and bad headaches yesterday i was given a CT scan and everything is ok
User :   "Head CT Scan"
Doctor :   ok
User :   now i still have blurry vision along with neck pains and headaches and my left temple is very sensitive to touch
Doctor :   do u have any fever , neck stiffness ?
User :   neck stiffness yes sometimes but i dont even know what that really feels like
Doctor :   so overall how has this affected your daily work ?
Doctor :   Have u had issues with sleep, appetite, weight loss , etc ?
User :   i cant concentrate because of constant pain and my left eye blurry vision scares me
Doctor :   may i know what other medicines u r on ?
User :   no not really
User :   im not taking anything right now
Doctor :   have the symptoms reduced now or are they the same ?
User :   the headaches arent as pronounced but now i have that pain in my left temple that hurts alot when i barely touch it, my neck still hurts(near left carotid artery) and my eye still blurry
Doctor :   may i know the duration of antibiotics you were on ?
User :   twice a day Augmentin for 10 days but took 8 days of it then started on Azithromycin for 1x day 5 day course then i just finished the augmentin right after i was done with that
Doctor :   so you have had adequate dose of antibiotics & the symptoms have reduced considerably . is this right ?
User :   depends on what symptoms we talk about
Doctor :   the symptoms of dizziness that you had before ?
User :   that is relatively gone but sometimes ill get a bit lightheaded
Doctor :   Post infection, there will be remenants or lasting effects for some time
Doctor :   For the pain or sensitivity please use some NSAID like ibuprofen
User :   that pain in temple scares me along with the blurry vision as someone had mentioned Giant Cell Arteritis
Doctor :   So did u get the ESR test to rule that out or a CBC to rule out other conditions as well ?
User :   no because none of these ER doctors take me serious they use the excuse im young and healthy
Doctor :   i understand
Doctor :   so they have not done any of the tests that were perhaps adviced here ?
User :   absolutely not everytime i go to ER they diagnose me with something different and i request blood tests and everything and they tell me its not neccessary
User :   i begged to get a CT scan yesterday
Doctor :   but that was fine i guess ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   have u ever taken ibuprofen for the pain ?
User :   yes and it doesnt do anything
Doctor :   may i know the dose of ibuprofen taken ?
User :   usually do 400mg every 6 hours or so
Doctor :   that would be less for your age
Doctor :   you may take 800 mg twice daily which will help you
User :   yea but honestly itt doesnt help me one bit regardless
Doctor :   In that case , you can take medicine called Tylenol PM, which will help you better
User :   i want to be given a diagnosis though that concerns me more than pain
Doctor :   if the tests that were not done, as in the Complete blood count and the ESR, it would not be helpful as conditions like temporal ateritis, cannot be ruled ou t
Doctor :   though a clincal diagnosis can be done, by your symptoms, at least an elevated ESR will help to confirm and start oral steroids that will reduce the inflammaiton and help the pain and your discomfort
User :   but what are the chances of me having tempral arteritis im only 23
Doctor :   it all depends on your symptoms and how u r trobled by it
User :   well ive had blurry vision for 2 weeks now and neck pain by the carotid for about a month
Doctor :   if your symptoms are felt to be very severe by you, in comparison, then it has to be diagnoised as a subjective disorder or a organic disorder (a real disease) and specific tests to diagnose them have to be made
Doctor :   those are classic symptoms seen in Temporal arteritis
Doctor :   You might consider consulting a rheumatologist to help you out with the treatment and proper diagnosis
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   im sorry
User :   i was speaking with my mother im going to another ER and requesting i get ESR and CBC
User :   tests done
Doctor :   ok
User :   im going to demand it because this is ridiculous
Doctor :   that would be correct
User :   ive had a sensitive scalp for about couple months now where when i shampoo it hurts
Doctor :   i hope that proper investigation can help in proper medications to be given to help ur symptoms
Doctor :   it could be due to a rash or dandruff
User :   no its a deep pain
Doctor :   using a medicated shampoo like nizoral will help it that case
Doctor :   In case its a deep pain, it could be inflammatory origin and will be helped by steroids or NSAIDs
User :   I appreciate your help I'm going to show this conversation to the ER physician
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   that is fine
User :   anything else i should know so that i go in there a bit more knowledgeable
Doctor :   nothing much
Doctor :   as most symtoms are not that indicative of major issues u need not worry
Doctor :   i hope your issues are solved at the earliest
Doctor :   and u become well and fit soon
User :   ok thank you and whats usually the proper treatment for this condition?
Doctor :   oral steroids or NSAIDS in combination will help
User :   thank you very much have a good day
Doctor :   you r welcome and wish u the same
