Doctor :   There are 2 common causes for such hypopigmented lesions.

Doctor :   The picture of the lesions are more suggestive of pityriasis Alba.
User :   i had a pityriasis infection, the one which makes a lot of red/dark spots on my waist
User :   i got treated for it and it completely disappeared
Doctor :   Pityriasis alba isn't a fungal infection, though the name is similar.
User :   what is pityriasis alba?
Doctor :   Similar lesions on the trunk are due to fungal lesions caused by pityriasis versicolor, but unlike this
Doctor :   Pityriasis alba occurs due to reduced melanin secretions similar to vitiligo,
User :   :(
Doctor :   but the difference is there is complete absence of melanin in vitiligo and here it is
User :   can it be cured?
Doctor :   reduced secretion.
User :   what is the cause for it?
Doctor :   It is non concerning problem and does not cause any symptoms apart the cosmetics problem.

Doctor :   Its much commoner in children and young adults
Doctor :   Though mainly seen in children can also occur in young individuals.
Doctor :   The treatment is still yet to be found, but
Doctor :   improved nutrition, use of moisturisers, preventing frequent exposure to cold can prevent similar lesions from occuring.
Doctor :   To reduce the consmetic problems, use of sunscreen lotions and skin lightening products ( such that the contrast between normal skin is reduced) is suggested.
