User :   I am under doctor care and with his advice I have stopped taking lotrel 5/10 for the past week. When I take my blood pressure properly, with 5 minutes of rest and breathing + supported left arm at heart level my readings range from 108/69-125/79 but if I go up and down a set of stairs and take it right away it can be as high as 150/86. Is this normal?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi doc.
Doctor :   How long does the BP stay that high after climbing up and down the stairs ?
User :   I would say that within 5 minutes the high mesurements might be down to 132/76
User :   sometimes lower
Doctor :   thats absolutely normal
Doctor :   straneous work do increase the BP in any normal individual
User :   the stairs are 1 story and it is usually just running or walking up them and coming back down
User :   not strenuous
User :   same result?
Doctor :   yes, since you are an Hypertensive , in you it may happen for a little less straineous work
User :   in your opinion would that be enough to return to the medicine?
Doctor :   but its normal for the BP to rise after some work
User :   or is this acceptable ?
Doctor :   i consider it to be acceptable , and no need to return to the medicine
User :   great. Ive lost 60 pounds and have another 10 or so to go. hopefully I see even more improvement
Doctor :   actually the BP readings are to be taken after a brief period of rest and at least 3 to 4 taken on different days are readings more than normal , only then a person can be considered hypertensive
User :   Oh I see. Thats good to know. Thank you for your time Doctor.
User :   Have a great day.
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   Bye for now
