User :   I keep getting pins and needles in my right armpit and right side of my right breast. The pins and needles sensation is pulse like, lasts for a few minutes, then goes away. It doesn't hurt. It has been happening several times a day for the past 6 weeks.

Doctor :   when are these sensations more during the entire day?
User :   I'm 49, female, 5'1, about 9.5 stone
Doctor :   have you had any injury to right armpit or breast extension on right side?
User :   no
Doctor :   are you still menstruating? if yes, is there any relation to your menstrual period time?
User :   yes but it's never been regular so hard to know about patterns, but the pins and needles happen every day at a range of different times
Doctor :   is there any radiation of the sensations? or do they stay at one place?
Doctor :   is there any pain or discomfort associated or do you fell only the pins and needles sensations?
User :   It seems to radiate out but always within the same radius, if that makes sense
User :   no pain
Doctor :   ok. is there any sensation difference in both the sides?
Doctor :   in terms of touch and pain?
Doctor :   is there any history of breast cancer in the family?
User :   it only ever happens on right side. I've also noticed a distinct lessening of strength in my right arm and hand
User :   no history of breast cancer
Doctor :   is there any skin changes have you noticed over the affected side since the start of symptoms?
User :   don't think so
Doctor :   is there any difference in the strength and grip of right hand?
User :   just been on holiday in sun so hard to be sure
User :   grip not too good
Doctor :   ok. I would recommend you to go ahead with these following tests to find out the cause for the symptoms
Doctor :   1) Strength test for the r=affected side as compared to left side.
Doctor :   2) local examination and the nerve conduction tests
Doctor :   3) a mammogram to rule out any serious issues like breast cancer.
Doctor :   4) hormonal tests LH, FSH, Prolactin levels to see if any problems are there due to hormones.
Doctor :   in the meantime time, maintain a good balanced diet with Vit-E supplements.
Doctor :   avoid lifting anything heavy (more than 1.5 kg) on affected side
User :   ok - thank-you. felt a bit daft making an appointment to talk about pins and needles!
