User:Hi Doctor, Good Evening
Doctor:Good Evening
Doctor:How can I help you?
Doctor:How are you doing?
User:I'm fine. How about u doctor?
User:My wife is pregnant
User:she is in her 8th month
User:we had done a fasting sugar test recently
Doctor:I am fine.
User:results are 123 before fasting and 172 after fasting
User:what does it mean? do we need to take any Insulin?
Doctor:She may require to repeat the test again.
Doctor:If the sugars are still high, she may have to go for Insulin.
Doctor:This condition is known as Gestational Diabetes.
Doctor:If it is diagnosed, then she would require control of sugar until it comes to normal.
User:will there be any risk in the future for baby even if control the sugar levels?
User:By the way we have done the same test 2 weeks, the results were 102 and 128
User:2 weeks back***
Doctor:What happens is that, if the sugars are high, the baby may grow bigger.
Doctor:In that case, a normal delivery would be difficult.
User:oh...but will there be any problems to the health of baby of to my wife?
User:or to my wife***
Doctor:No. If the sugars are controlled well, then there should be no risk for either of them.
User:so taking Insulin will control the sugar levels, is it a safe method...she already stopped taking rice in the dinner
Doctor:Ok. let me guide you regarding this.
Doctor:I can understand the concern you are having as your wife is diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Doctor:The treatment is at various levels.
Doctor:During pregnancy, she has to go for diet control, exercises and Insulin.
Doctor:At the same time, regular checking of blood sugar levels, and fetal monitoring is also important.
User:oh ok
Doctor:If the sugars are controlled, there is chance that she can have a normal delivery too.
User:hmmm...bit nervous
Doctor:Yes, I understand the scariness of the situation.
User:this is her first pregnancy at the age of 31
Doctor:But do not worry. This is a common condition which is well treated by gynecologists.
Doctor:And mostly the diabetes disappears after the delivery.
User:but our doctor asked us to XXXXXXX the endocrinologist
User:oh ok
Doctor:That is fine. it is for a better care and management.
User:oh ok...Thank you Docotr
Doctor:Even after delivery she will have to continue the preventive measures like diet and exercise.
Doctor:So get on with the treatment. And be relaxed.
Doctor:Prepare for the coming of a new member to your family.
Doctor:keep your spirits up.
Doctor:Everything will be fine.
User:sure....will try to maintain the same life style!!!
User:Thanks for advice
Doctor:Is there anything else I can help you with?
User:no doctor...Thanks a lot
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Hope I had been helpful.
User:yes...for sure
User:Thanks for your time
Doctor:Have a Nice Evening!!
