Doctor:How can I help you?
User:Hi doc
User:My wife is 25 weeks pregnant and having severe leg cramps and backache at night. Is it normal? Should i see a doc?
Doctor:Back pain and leg crams are part of pregnancy symptoms.
Doctor:However she would need to see her gynecologist if symptoms are very severe.
Doctor:The visit to the doctor is needed immediately if she has others symptoms like bleeding, inability to walk, fever, etc.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:Ok. Any changes or addition in food habit needed at this stage?
Doctor:At 25 weeks pregnancy, there are no food restriction.
User:No, nothing of that sort , only cramps.
Doctor:She needs to eat whatever she feels like.
Doctor:Egg and non vegetarian food needs to be properly cooked.
Doctor:Drink plenty of fluids.
Doctor:Diet restrictions are suggested if there is an associated medical problem.
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Is she vomiting excessively?
User:No, it was till 14 weeks
Doctor:Leg cramps are associated with electrolyte imbalance which can happen in women who vomit excessively.
Doctor:If she is not vomiting much, then just make sure she drinks enough fluids.
Doctor:Leg cramps should improve.
Doctor:If symptoms become severe or if she has persistent leg cramps
User:she's ok now. And what about baby movement? Sometimes she cann't feel movement for a day. Having anterior placenta.
Doctor:a physical check with a gynecologist to rule out venous thrombosis is needed.
Doctor:She should be feeling baby movements by now;
Doctor:but if this is her first pregnancy, then those movements may be very subtle
Doctor:for her to make out.
User:She feels it. Yes, first one
Doctor:The movements will gradually increase and becomes well felt.
Doctor:All those are signs of healthy pregnancy.
Doctor:So do not worry.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:Ok, Thanks Doc. Nice talk to you.
Doctor:Any other queries?
User:No, Thanks again
Doctor:You are welcome. If there are more queries, please ask?
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Have a nice day!!!
