Pregnant. Rubella test turned out abnormal. Is this cause for alarm? - Online Doctor Chats
Hi Good Morning Doctor
I had a question about my wife
Good morning. How may i Help you ?
she is 9 week pregnant, we did initial tests at week 5
This is an antibody test
at week 9 our doctor recommended to perform Rubella IgG avidity
High titer of rubella IgG does not mean person is having active Rubella
which is now Rubella IgG Avidity is 87.66 %
what does this avidity reflect?
it can be due an infection in the past
should i consider this is normal, I mean there is no risk????
If you wife has no symptoms, you should take it as normal
another question about urine R/E
Also what is S.G in Urine routine examination?
It is specific gravit
it is 1.303 (normal range is 1.001 to 1.030)
It just means that urine is more concentrated
ask her to take more fluids
it will become normal
Thanks a lot
You are welcome anytime
Is there anything else you wish to ask me?
last question Please
and it just started couple of days back
It is so normal in pregnacy
i just wanted to check is she needs to take any precaution in terms of posture during vomit
Is this her first pregnancy?
No, no posture as such
there is no need for medicines too
She needs to take light food
Lot of liquids
every few hours
The vomiting will subside after first 3 months
wish her a safe and happy pregnancy
