User :   Hello, I have a question regarding my belly button and my vagina? About 10 years ago I had my youngest son. During the last part of pregnancy I experienced belly leakage. For the past 3days I have been having a severe pain in my vagina, and being very sore, No discharge, however I do feel like I have to urinate alot, and I also have pain in my right pelvic area. Now today my belly button starting leaking again. Someone told me that it might be a yeast infection could that be why my belly button is leaking again?

User :   No i did have what the Dr called a Rhino Virus about 2weeks ago, but this situation seems to happen prior to my monthly
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
Doctor :   Based on your description, your symptoms are consistent with the features of
Doctor :   1. A urinary tract infection
Doctor :   2. Omphalitis
User :   Would that be the cause of the pelvic pain too
Doctor :   Let me put across to you in simple words so that you can understand.
Doctor :   A urinary tract infection in women commonly occurs due to unprotected sexual intercourse,
Doctor :   this explains the increased frequency of urination and the pelvic pain you have.
Doctor :   Omphalitis is inflammation of the belly button
Doctor :   the symptoms of this include the discharge and the redness/soreness at the region of belly button.
Doctor :   This condition is usually common in new born, however adults who have a deep belly button can also develop this condition.
Doctor :   Let me suggest you the measures that you can follow.
Doctor :   For urinary tract infection
Doctor :   1. Plenty of water consumption is recommended.
Doctor :   You will need to take more than 1 litres to 2 litres of water every day for the next one week.
Doctor :   2. Use antiinflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen 400mg twice daily after food for next 3 days.
Doctor :   3. Watch out for burning sensation, white discharge, fever, you will need to undergo an urine test - routine and culture test.
Doctor :   For Omphalitis
Doctor :   1. Clean the discharge with a clean cotton swab,
Doctor :   followed by washing the area clean.
Doctor :   2. Keep the umbilicus clean and dry.
Doctor :   3. You may use local antibiotic cream such as neosporin cream
User :   just have one last ?.. when i was preganant with my last son during the last 3months they found that I may have had cancer cells in uterus. when I had my son they did a surgery to remove some skin to test it, they said that it was level 4 non cancerous cells.. and that i needed to be checked every 6months to make sure it didnt progress. could this be causing any of the problems
Doctor :   that can be applied there.
Doctor :   However, if your symptoms get worsened, you will need to see a doctor for examination.
Doctor :   No,
Doctor :   They are not the cause for your present symptoms.
