User :   I am due to have a colectomy next week and both of my children have come down with strep throat. Should I be concerned? Get on profolactic antibiotics?

Doctor :   may not be in the form of antibiotics
Doctor :   use antiseptics in daily fomities
Doctor :   use separate towel , plates etc
Doctor :   gargle with antiseptic solutions
Doctor :   avoid their breath
User :   Okay. Already doing most of that (except the gargling). Should I call the surgeon and tell him?

User :   Do you think it's possible the surgery will be postponed if I get strep?
Doctor :   depends on the surgeon , not that the surgery should be postponed
