User :   I'm having a Sestambi Stress Test at 9:30am EST. I forgot and had some diet Pepsi today - 1/2 cup at 11 AM and a small Reese's peanutbutter cupat 10 pm. Can the test still be done in the morning? I'm so upset that I forgot!!!! Pls. advise. Thank you.
Doctor :   hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :   usually you should be fasting if you are having a nuclear stress test
Doctor :   and the fasting should be atleast for 4 hours prior to the testing
User :   I will be fasting, but I wasn't suppose to have caffeine or anything decaffeinated 24 hrs prior to test.
Doctor :   call up the lab and inform them about your inability to fast, request if they can delay your test such that you have 4 hours fasting before getting teh test done
Doctor :   yes you should not have had them
Doctor :   for the test you are about t o go, a 4 hour fast is sufficient
Doctor :   so do not worry
User :   even if I had caffeine?
Doctor :   if it was only in the pepsi, that is a carbonated drink, the concentration is less as compared to the coffee
Doctor :   so do not worry about it. you can have lots of water in next 1 hour time to help you wash it out
User :   what about the small Reese's peanutbutter cup - 11 1/2 hrs prior to the test?
Doctor :   inform the lab accordingly about getting you timing postponed until u are having 4 hours fast
Doctor :   it will not matter much, you should be having a minimum of 4 hours fast prior to your test
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said? please get back to me in case of having doubt
User :   I haven't eaten anything since 10 pm tonight and do not intend to eat anything prior to the test which is at 9:30 am
Doctor :   ok. that would be fine enough
User :   ok. Thanks. Good night!
Doctor :   do not consume any drink except water during this time
Doctor :   and try and avoid taking even water 4 hour prior to the test
User :   okay.
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   No, thanks.
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
