Doctor:Hi
Doctor:Good evening
User:Hi
User:Good evening
User:Hi , I have a problem that I wanted to chat about..
Doctor:Please proceed with your query
User:I seem to have a headache problem, which is mostly related to my stomach
User:I know it's because of my stomach because it seems to go away if I relieve myself in the bathroom
User:the headache is of the pounding type, seems to come and go with the heartbeat
User:Also, I've noticed I get a bad headache if I have prawns
User:the headache manifests overnight
User:Any ideas?
Doctor:Have you got your thyroid profile tested
Doctor:?
User:No
User:Should I?
Doctor:It is better to get a thyroid profile done
Doctor:May I know your age and gender?
User:29/Male
Doctor:Thank you
Doctor:I do not see a relation between the headache and stomach
Doctor:They seem to be 2 separate problems
User:Well, actually..no. They seem to be related.
User:Almost every time my stomach is upset, I get a headache...
User:I get a headache if I don't visit the bathroom a little after I wake up (or if I sleep late in the morning)
User:Also, I need to visit the bathroom at least twice a day...otherwise, in most cases, I get a headache by evening..
User:which gets ok if I do go to the bathroom
Doctor:You mean to say you pass stools twice in a day?
User:Yes
User:Sorry if I was not clear
Doctor:I apologize for not understanding
Doctor:It seems to be a very minor problem
Doctor:One suggestion I wish to give you
User:sure, go ahead
Doctor:Try and spend time in the bathroom and evacuate your bowel as much as you can
Doctor:Never withhold an urge to pass motions
User:Hmm, I'll try... I usually spend quite some time at every 'sitting'... atleast 15 minutes..
User:goes up to 30 minutes too
User:and i only get up if i feel I'm done...
Doctor:That is good
User:but then i feel the urge to go again in probably 4-5 hours
User:and if I don't go....the headache starts in about 1-2 hours
Doctor:Since how long are you facing this problem?
User:quite some time actually...atleast 10 years...
User:it's never been a major issue though, so i never consulted
Doctor:Yes, that is right, it is not a major issue now
Doctor:But we should not neglect it too
User:But I am worried because the headache sometimes happens before I wake up... (around 5)
Doctor:Is there alternating episodes of diarrhea and loose stools or is it normal stools that you pass?
User:and then sometimes a dull headache persists for an entire day...
User:till the system gets cleared (i think(
User:normal stools
User:hardly ever loose/diarrhea
User:but I do feel constipation a lot
User:and I think that is when the headache happens
Doctor:One condition matches to your symptoms
Doctor:Inflammatory bowel disease
Doctor:But it may still be in the initial stage
Doctor:Are you having a stressful lifestyle?
User:ok
User:not really
User:I'm a software developer
User:not a stressful work profile
User:could stress be a reason?
Doctor:Yes, for sure
Doctor:Is there any other symptom associated with the headache?
User:just a feeling of constipation... nothing else
User:i can go about with my normal work...
User:but it's a pulsating pain in the head...which increases if I shake my head around
Doctor:Do you feel like vomiting or is there a visual disturbance?
User:if the pain is too much, i do feel like vomiting...
User:no visual disturbance
User:most of the times, i don't feel like vomiting
Doctor:This seems like cluster headche
Doctor:But I cannot associate both your symptoms into one except for IBD
Doctor:Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Doctor:Let me tell you few things
User:sure
Doctor:As long as your headache is getting relieved with passage of stools, you should not worry
User:Ok
Doctor:And the headache does not seem major, except for its pulsatile nature
User:Yes
User:It's not major
User:just doesn't happen to anyone else I know, which is worrysome
Doctor:Causes in the ear and temporal lobe of brain usually cause Pulsating headache
Doctor:So, here are my suggestions
User:I see
Doctor:You may consider IBD as one of the causes
Doctor:You may visit an ENT surgeon to get your ears checked
Doctor:3rd- Its mostly benign
User:ok
Doctor:4- You need to drink more water and maintain regular bowel and bladder habits
Doctor:I do not think it is very serious at this point
Doctor:Are you following me?
User:Yes
Doctor:If not, please ask me
User:I follow you
Doctor:I shall explain again
Doctor:ok
Doctor:Stay away from stress
User:ok...
User:sounds good...
User:i'll check on the IBD and ear thing...
Doctor:You need to follow it too
User:drink more fluids
Doctor:Yes
User:and stay away from stress
Doctor:Right
User:Ok, thank you so much for taking time to look into this problem
Doctor:Thank you roo
Doctor:Sorry too*
Doctor:Take care
User:Bye
Doctor:And get well soon
Doctor:Bye
User:Thanks!
