User :   I wanted to talk to some one regarding my neck and shoulder problem

User :   i am a banker and i often have pain in my neck and shoulders i use some pain relieving ointment like systaflam but that's temporary relief.
User :   i have trouble sleeping at night bcoz no matter how i sleep i wake up with pain next morning.i try sleeping on my side and dont even take pillow.

User :   i consulted a doc he advised me some pain killer and multi vitamin.
User :   tell me som permanent cure!!

Doctor :   It would be better to see an Orthopedician as a X ray of the neck would be required and to be treated accordingly.
Doctor :   Meanwhile you can follow these measures: Doctor :   1. Regular neck and back physical exercises is a must.
Doctor :   you can also follow them while working.
User :   how to sleep? what is best position to sleep?
Doctor :   you can try neck rotation exercises and back strengthening exercises.
User :   like hot water bottle??
Doctor :   2. Can apply Diclofenac gel over the area for pain relief.
Doctor :   3. Hot fomentation will also be helpful as this reduces the inflammation and relieves pain.

Doctor :   4. Avoid hard pillows and can use semi soft pillows. Can also use cervical pillows which are available in the pharmacy stores.
Doctor :   Not hot water bottle, but hot water bag, make sure its bearable temperature.

Doctor :   5. Continue pain killer tablets as advised by your doctor.
