Doctor :   hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :
how can i help you?
Doctor :
please proceed with your health query
User :   i have problem of snoring
User :   now a days it become to heavy
Doctor :
ok
User :   i am sleeping heavy
Doctor :
ok
User :   always feeling moody
User :   not active
Doctor :
Snoring is as a result of the obstruction of air flow in both inhalation and exhaust that happens in the part of air passage, where the back of the throat and tongue meets with the soft palate and uvula.
Doctor :   this may result in sleep disturbances
User :   ok
Doctor :
which then result in excessive daytime tiredness and sleepiness
User :   k
Doctor :
there are various reasons that people snore
Doctor :
1)The fat deposits around the neck and throat of obese people may exert extra amount of pressure on the airway, especially while the person is lying down, which blocks the free air flow in and out, leading to snoring.
Doctor :   2)Alcohol or medications like sleeping pills and anti-histamines causes muscles of the throat to relax, causing it to block the airway while sleeping.
Doctor :   3)Smoking and sinusitis also cause snoring.
User :   i have sinusitis
Doctor :   4)Snoring is also found to have a genetic trait, in which case treatments are less effective.
Doctor :   ok
User :   its in starting stage
Doctor :
5)The size of the pillow is one more factor that could induce snoring. if the pillow size is larger, it increases the angle of the neck, sometimes to the extent of obstructing the air passage, especially while lying on the back.
Doctor :   6)Like in the case of sinusitis, certain allergies cause congestion in the nose and the airway, leading to high decibel snoring. This effect is more apparent when the person already has habit of snoring.
Doctor :   in case you have sinusitis, then this should be treated first
Doctor :
such that it does not cause snoring
User :   ok
Doctor :
in case the snoring that you have was present before the sinusitis had appeared then we will need to look into the various causes that might have caused it
Doctor :
now coming to remedies,
Doctor :
1) If you're overweight try to lose some of weight, be in ideal weight bracket to help you better
Doctor :
2)Stop smoking if smoking is the factor
Doctor :
3)Blow your nose well, clean it, or do nasal douching before going to bed
Doctor :   4)Sleep on your side which avoids the block in air pasages.
Doctor :   5)if you have enlarged adenoids or tonsills, then medically removing them will help you
Doctor :
6) nasal plasters, nasal sprays etc also help
Doctor :
you can consult a ENT specialist to see what will best suit your needs to combat snoring
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
User :   yes
Doctor :
is there anything else i can help you with?
User :   as i said i am sleeping to much
Doctor :   ok
User :   unable to concentrate on things.. feeling lazy
Doctor :
all these promlems are primarily caused due to your snoring itself
Doctor :
snoring leads to sleep apnea like i have told before
Doctor :
in sleep apnea, a person wakes up momentarily due to lack of breath
Doctor :
which disturbs teh sleep cycle
User :   yes it happens to me
Doctor :
and makes him feel lazy, tired and sleepy all the time
Doctor :   as the brain does not get the required rest
Doctor :
so i suggest you to see a ENT specialist
Doctor :
and get the underlying problem resolved
User :   ok
Doctor :
which wil help you to sleep better
Doctor :
and effective
Doctor :
reducing your tiredness, and lack of sleep feeling
User :   like my roomate sleeps for 6 hrs .. and active all the day.. and i sleep 9-10 hrs but still not feel fresh
Doctor :
yes it canhappen due to disturbed sleep, usually brain requires 6-7 hours of sleep
Doctor :
which when disturbed does not feel adequate even if you sleep 12 hours
Doctor :
as yu will keep getting up in between due to sleep apnea
Doctor :
and snoring
Doctor :
so when you get up inmorning you wil not feel gfresh
Doctor :
*fresh
User :   now a days me roommate is waking me up in middle of niight as he is gettign distrubred with my snoring
User :   its became a big problem for me
Doctor :
i can understand
Doctor :
usually it is a problem for both you and the roommate or spouse sleeping along with yu in same room
User :   can regural excerise help .. like gym.. joging
Doctor :
the quick remedy for this is to change room
Doctor :
and long term remedy is to get the problem checked and fixed
User :   ok
User :   then i will see ENT specalist
Doctor :
the regular exercises do not help generally as the problem lies with the blockage of air passage during sleep
Doctor :
so the remedy also will lie in finding what is causing the obstruction
Doctor :
and trying to get it fixed
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   And i have hair lose problem too
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
i will help you with that too
User :   when ever i combe and take headbath .. losing heavily
Doctor :
Please fill the feedback form say done when done, while i answer your next query
User :   ok
Doctor :
do you have any hair related problems like dandruff, dry scalp?
User :   used have dandrufff
User :   but not now
Doctor :
hairloss is a problem which happens maily due to underlying hair problems
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
is your scalp dry? scaly?
User :   yes
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
then this has to be taken care of
Doctor :
i will suggest few tips for reducing hair loss
Doctor :
Usually losing upto 50 - 100 strands per day is considered normal
Doctor :
losing more than that needs attention
User :   its more than that
Doctor :
1) Oil your hair atleast twice a week with a mix of sesame and almond oil
Doctor :
2)wash your hair with mild shampoo atleast twice a week
User :   yes it do both
Doctor :
use milder shampoos like Dove
User :   ok
Doctor :
3) do not comb your hair when wet
Doctor :   as when scalp is wet, the hair follicles come out more easily
Doctor :
leading to more damage and hair loss
User :   ok
Doctor :
4) avoid using very high temp blow driers on hair, they cause damage to hair follicles
User :   i dont use hair driers
Doctor :   5)do not go out in harsh sun, cover with a cotton cloth atleast
Doctor :
6) avoid use of helmet, if using use a cotton cloth to soak any sweat coming out
Doctor :
this will avoid damage to your hair
Doctor :
7) dry and frizzy hair also leads to more breakage, use a conditioner after shamppoing
Doctor :
remember to rinse it well to avoid staying inside hair and leading to more damage than repair
Doctor :
8) hard water is another cause . if you suspect this as a cause, then wash your hair atleast in the last rinse with drinking water
Doctor :
Using a mixture of green tea without sugar in the last rinse also helps, it also prevents greying of hair.
Doctor :   have you followed what i have said
User :   yes
Doctor :
if you have dry scalp still, use a hairpack atleast once in 15 days
Doctor :
with a mix of
Doctor :
XXXXXXXX, coffe powder, egg white and curd
User :   i apply XXXXXXXX
User :   i use tea powder
Doctor :
only XXXXXXXX wil cause more dryness, mix atleast 1 eggs white in it
Doctor :
is there anything else i can help you with?
User :   yes . my friend used mintop 2% for hair lose .. she used it for 3-4 days and the reslut was good
User :   but i saw in internet ... it has side effects
Doctor :
it wil give good results when associated problem of dandruff is there
Doctor :
along with the above tips
Doctor :
follow a well balanced diet daily
User :   when we stop using it .. hair lose will be more
Doctor :
including a glass of milk, salads with a spoon of olive oil
User :   so no problem in using mintop rite?
Doctor :   if you are using Miniodixil (mintop) for more than 2 weeks
Doctor :
and still the problem is not solved
Doctor :
then you should report back to your doctor
Doctor :
and alternatively use the above said tips
User :   ok
Doctor :
for beter results.
Doctor :
if the problem is dietary or heritary then mintop will not give permanent solution
User :   ok
Doctor :
it will only give temporary relief
Doctor :
so make sure yu have a good balanced diet including 3 vegetable and 3 fruit servings
Doctor :
use olive oil dressing for slads
User :   ok
Doctor :
take a glass of milk everyday
Doctor :
take foods rich in protein
User :   ok
Doctor :
taking a multivitamin suplliment also works
