User :   hi i visited my doctor yesterday with pains in my chest (im32 female) and everytime i coughed it hurt he said i either had bronchitis or pluresy he gave me steriods and antibiotics today i am feeling quite short of breath and very tired my muscles are all aching i have constant headache and my stomach gets cramps but when i cough it doesnt hurt so much i work in a hospital for the elderly should i go back to my doctor or give the tablets chance

User :   since yesterday its klacid la 500 mg once a day

Doctor :   I feel you should give it a try and finish the course , clarithromycin has least side effects and will help you get better soon.
User :   im also ondeltacortril ent 5mg prednisolone i have to take 6 daily

User :   nothing has been done i was just a little worried as i have just heard today there is legionaires in the water at work

User :   no he just listened to my chest and lungs
Doctor :   I think being in an advanced country with great medical facilities, treatment without some essential tests is a bit surprising as I thought he might have done the tests .
Doctor :   Please get the following tests done.
Doctor :   Tests that may be done include: 1.Arterial blood gases
2.Chest x-ray
3.Complete blood count (CBC), including 4.white blood cell count
5.Erythrocyte sedimentation rate
6.Sputum culture for the Legionella bacteria/ any other infection as well ;
7.Sputum indirect fluorescent antibody test for the Legionella bacteria
8.Urine tests to check for Legionella 9.test for pneumophila bacteria
User :   how soon do i need to get them done it takes two days to get an appointment at my surgey
Doctor :   Test 8 & 9 & 1 are not mandatory but all others are mandatory before prescribing antibiotic.
Doctor :   Please get the tests done as soon as possible, do not delay.
