Playful and physically fit child not showing interest in having food. Any solution? - Online Doctor Chats
Dr. i am not happy with my daughters food intake form 3 days
May i know her age ?
she is nt eating 50% of food in which she use to eat earlier
she is 1 year 20 days
How is her weight , has it been improving steadily ?
approx she is around 10
or has it decreased over time ?
no she as nt decreased
how is her daily activity ?
is she playful ?
or is she sleepy ?
S she is play full
for your information, as long as the weight is steady, the child is playful, and physically fit, it is ok
small toddlers will be fussy about food , and will eat only things that they like and find tasty
May i know what foods, does she does not like to eat ?
You can give her fruits like banana, apples, oranges, grapes, , eggs , chicken soup, which are good in nutrition.
You can give her Pediasure protein powder with milk, to XXXXXXX her protein requirements
as she had bee to her grand parents home 2 day ago n we were thinking she had got NAZAR
I do not agree with that
probably, the care and attention the kid got from them, was in excess, so that they do become fussy
Also 2 day i thought there might be also some medical reasons as well n thought if u will prescribe any medication to incresae hunger or for digession
medications are not needed , for such reasons, where, the child is healthy and fit
ok, u say no need of medication?
the job is simply to buy the right food, prepare it nutritiously (steamed rather than boiled, baked rather than fried), and serve it creatively
fussy eating, is a behavioural issue
and the solution is with behavior modification and not with medications
medicines are not the solution to each and everything
How much a child will eat often depends on how you present them
Appearance is important
kids enjoy the unexpected and fanciful when it comes to serving dishes
when you serve, Camouflage vegetables with a favorite sauce.
Use vegetables as finger foods and dip them in a favorite sauce or dip.
If your child is going through a picky-eater stage, invite over a friend who is the same age or slightly older whom you know "likes to eat XXXXXXX Your child will catch on. Group feeding lets the other kids set the example.
Keep food servings small
A young child's stomach is approximately the size of his fist. So give small portions at first and refill the plate when your child asks for more.
You are welcome
take care and have a good day
