User:I have a problem
Doctor:sure, please proceed
User:We are planning for parenthood
User:And I am having irregular periods
Doctor:May i know how long have u been trying ?
User:Scan report says: IMPRESSION: Slighly larger ovaries and probably polycystic
User:Last April
User:since then I am having irregular period
Doctor:so it has been about 8 months or so
Doctor:how long have u had such irregular periods ? have u always had them ?
User:Doctor said not to wait until the period becomes regular
User:From April only it started
User:before that it was regular
Doctor:were u on any medications ?
User:Last month doctor prescribed to take tablets(Siphene) from D2-D6 and then D7 and D8 Injection (GMH 75 IU)
User:But never seen any Large follicles in any scan
User:sorry injection was on D7 and D9
User:i am bit worried about this
Doctor:when was the last scan done , before this one ?
User:in december i did
User:when i got master checkup done at Columnbia Asia
User:But that time in d scan they had never mention anything about PCO
Doctor:PCOD is a major condition, that can cause issues with fertility
Doctor:can u mention your weight and height please
User:wt is 61Kg
User:ht is 5 ft 3 inches
User:i do walk for arond 1 hr a day
User:and wont eat outside food
Doctor:your BMI is normal, so weight should not be a issue ,
Doctor:being overweight can cause such issues, and weight loss is the first step to fix such condition ,
Doctor:but in your case, it is not that needed
Doctor:did ur doctor know about PCOS beofre ordering the injections and medications ?
User:PCO wasn't detected in external scan
User:When i went for XXXXXXX scan TVS for detection of ovulation that time PCO's were suggested
Doctor:AND this was done in december, is this right ?
User:scan report says both ovaries are slightly larger in size with multiple smaller follicles
User:no in XXXXXXX
User:Scan also says no free mass / no free fluid found
Doctor:do u have irregular bleeding and excess bleeding during your periods ?
User:bleeding in normal
User:but period is irregular
Doctor:and how many days do u get your period , you can give me a average
User:Last month i took primolut N to get the period
User:average 1.5 to 2 months
Doctor:you mean 45 days to 60 days ?
User:upto last march it was very regular.
User:from april it become irregular
Doctor:first and foremost, you will need a prescription of medications , to help ur periods become regular again
Doctor:the presence of such irregular periods indicate , that your cycles are anovulatory , which mean, no egg is released
Doctor:hence there will be no chance of pregnancy
User:Doctor said if i want to get my period regular. Then i cant concieve
User:Thats why she is giving medication for ovulation.
Doctor:in that case, has any tests been done to check, if you are ovulating ?
User:scanning is done
Doctor:have they confirmed which days, ovulation occurs ?
User:medication for ovulation started last month
User:ovulation never occured even after the medication as no large follicle found
Doctor:ok, in that case, at least 2-3 cycles have to go , so that the drugs can act
User:oh ok..
Doctor:with time, once ovulation can be predicted, your doctor will advice to have sex, in a timed manner
User:I also wants to knw
Doctor:and this will result in conception
User:whether these drugs can cause any harm to me
User:i.e., Siphene / Fertile Super / GMH 75 IU
Doctor:siphene is a safe drug , used to induce ovulation
User:how abt other two?
Doctor:THEY ARE also safe
Doctor:GMH is a hormone, to induce ovulation
User:So I can continue with this for 3 cycles and see the result
Doctor:yes, that is right
User:wanted to know whether i am in right path
Doctor:I understand
Doctor:You are very welcome
User:Thanks a lot doctor
Doctor:bye for now
User:At last do u have any suggestions for me?
Doctor:as such, continue the treatment, for 2-3 months
Doctor:if they are not helping, then you will need treatment to first regularise your periods
Doctor:and then try for conception , normally
User:thanks for help
User:bye then
Doctor:You are welcome
Doctor:good luck
User:Thank you
