User :   about a week ago I developed what feels like a "pinch" in my groin area. I only feel it when I am sitting. If I lean forward in my chair it almost feels like my underwear line is pulling and pinching the area between my leg and testicles. When I am standing I have absolutely no pain. Also around the same time I developed the feelings of sciatica (which I have had before), in the left leg, the same side as the pinching feeling. I have felt carefully in that area, no lumps or growths, nothing I can feel, it just hurts bad when sitting and leaning forward in my chair. Any ideas?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hey there
User :   Hi doctor.
Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   thanks
Doctor :   this could be due to some skin follicular infection
User :   it feels more "inside" than on the skin though
Doctor :   the skin follicles are usually situated deeper than the surface of the skin
Doctor :   this is a common condition, that can occur due to tension or pull on the hair in the perineal region
User :   what does one due for it?
User :   do for it, sorry
Doctor :   this is a benign lesion, and will subside soon
User :   it's been a week, and it seems to be getting just a little worse, not better.
User :   how long would you give it?
Doctor :   in that case, if it is worsening, you may need to applly a skin antibiotics
User :   I just don't think it's on the exterior - it feel like a string going underneath my going and bottocks
Doctor :   try, soframycin cream
User :   groin area
User :   when I tighten my legs together and lean forward, that's when I get that bad pinching pain.
Doctor :   can you feel it as a nodule in that area ?
User :   No, I can't feel anything unusual really and I have felt very carefully
User :   sometimes I can press the skin hard and feel the area of pain, but it's very mild - the only time I get the pain is sitting, and leaning forward with my legs together.
Doctor :   and this has been there since 1 week
Doctor :   and does it affect your sleep ?
User :   no, I have no pain at all, except when I sit to work
User :   and yes, about a week.
Doctor :   then as i said, this could be due to a skin gland infection , causing folliculitis
Doctor :   the other cause would have been an inflammed node
User :   it kind of feels like some sort of "glandular" thing
User :   rather than skin
User :   rather than skin
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   skin does contain glands and these glands include sebaceous glands
Doctor :   and such sebceous glands can increase in size in the perineal region most commonly
User :   so, what would you do if it was you?
Doctor :   and cause sebaceous cysts
Doctor :   if the cysts were just too small, i would take ibuprofen, which would reduce the inflammation, and pain and reduce the size of the glands as well
User :   do they normally go away in time?
Doctor :   In case, it was large and was causing severe pain (grade 5-8 out of 10) then i would have it removed surgically (a minor procedure , done in office, under local pain killers)
Doctor :   yes , sebaceous cyst can reduce over time
User :   what kind of doctor does that kind of procedure?
Doctor :   this occurs in 40 % cases
Doctor :   and in the rest a general physician or a dermatologist, can remove it by a minor procedure
User :   ok, thank you. I'll let it go another week and see if any improvement and then go to a doctor. I see our time is just about up.
Doctor :   you are most welcome
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me here
User :   ok, thank you .
Doctor :   your condition will improve soon
User :   I hope so!
Doctor :   take care and have a gfood day
Doctor :   bye for now
