User :   i HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT HPV
User :   hello
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :
please proceed
User :   ok well i am a soldier currently in Iraq
User :   I had a pap smear before i came out here and 8 monthes before that and i was clear
User :   I am married we just got married in june and been together for a year in a half
User :   i just started noticing these bumps
User :   the first one i noticed was like i thought a skin XXXXXXXX
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
ok
User :   but i got another one in a different area but its completely different
Doctor :
ok
User :   so can HPV be missed on a pap smear twice?
User :   hello?
Doctor :   normally it doesnt happen

Doctor :
in hpv degentely there will be abnormal cells in pap smear
User :   so what could these things be? they dont hurt, dont itch nothing... their my skin color... i never had them before?
Doctor :   what are the symptoms u are having?
User :   just the bumps
Doctor :
what is ur age?
User :   22
User :   i have a child
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
is there any itching ?
Doctor :
soreness/pain?
User :   no
Doctor :
any discharge from vagina?
User :   no
User :   regular
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
bumps on the vagina occur
Doctor :
due to many reasons
Doctor :
some times even blockage of a sweat gelan also will lead to abump
User :   what if theres more than one?
Doctor :   it might be due to the same reason
Doctor :
wich are called cysts due to blockage of swaet glands
Doctor :
other reasons are viral infections like herpes, mulloscum conXXXXXXXXiousm
User :   so if i had genital warts what would be the symptoms how do u tell the difference?
Doctor :
but in those conditions u will have itching, soreness
User :   so if i have non of that then its prob. something natural
Doctor :
iit might be normal
Doctor :
there is lot of difference between a wart and bump
User :   ok well i have a couple of these things in different areas... one i can move around
User :   and the other two i cant
User :   what is the differance between a wart and bump
Doctor :   that we can make out only on physical examination

User :   well thats kinda an issue with me being in iraq
Doctor :
atill now pap is the most reliable test
Doctor :
if it is negative then most probably u are negative for hpv
User :   so should i assume these bumps r nothing? how can i try to get rid of them?
Doctor :
just ignore them if they are not bothering
Doctor :
they will go away on itself
User :   i cant pop them?
Doctor :
any symptoms like itching or pain starts then it must be viral infection
Doctor :
no dont do that
Doctor :
then we can start anti viral drugs/creams
Doctor :
as far as now we should assume it be vaginal cysts
User :   is there a certain way they look or does that vary
User :   please be discriptive i am a soldier in iraq and im very nervous about this
Doctor :   i can understand ur problem
Doctor :
but we cannot differentiate them physically
Doctor :   only by symptoms
Doctor :   relax
Doctor :
as far as now nothing to worry
User :   im sorry i m very nervous... it is like one of my biggest fears.
Doctor :
hmm
Doctor :
relax now
Doctor :
u there?
User :   i really dont like to see the medics. now if something does start happening eventually is there a home remedy
User :   yes
Doctor :
noways
Doctor :   u should see a doctor if any of the above symptoms appear
User :   ok well how about shaving should i not do that why i have these
Doctor :   with o9ut disturbing bumps u can do shaving
User :   douching and all that is ok
Doctor :
yes
Doctor :   u should maintain good hygeine
User :   ok
User :   now how about my diet does that have to change as well? is it a factor?
Doctor :
not required
Doctor :
u can take whatever u like
User :   hmmm ok
User :   i read that u can have some of those things and not have symtoms too is that true?
Doctor :
yes
Doctor :
but they are harmless
Doctor :
all hpv doesnt lead to cancer
Doctor :
some hpv are harmless so there will not be signs and symptoms
User :   and will go away on its own?
Doctor :
they are self limiting
User :   i know that u will always have it
User :   self limiting?
Doctor :
will reduce on its own
User :   ok
User :   cervical cancer should have deff. been spotted on a pap swear correct?
Doctor :
yes
User :   ok
User :   how long can u have something like hpv and it not have any symptoms?
Doctor :
why are u worried about hpv now?
Doctor :
in hpv if its negative then u are negative
User :   i dont you made it sound like it could be that
Doctor :
dint get u
User :   well isnt genital warts hpv?
Doctor :
but u are negative for pap smear right
