User :   Hi, about 4 months ago i had a panic attack, followed by depression(no reason to be depressed at all)then followed by insomia and anexiety. Then i starting having trouble focusing, thinking, even memory lapses. Kind of like a brain fog! I went to an ob/gyn and did hormonal saliva testing that said i had severe adrenal fatige. I started the herbal supplements and do not feel any better.....sometimes worse. I even have night sweats and get a weird felling in my arms(mainly at night) Before this I was an active and very fit 29 year old who had more energy than my two young children! Now im very fatiged and absent minded all day....and im a stay at home mom. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read your query
Doctor :   Who suggested you with saliva testing?
Doctor :   May I know what is tested in the saliva?
Doctor :   Are you with me?
User :   my ob gyn . hormone levels are tested
Doctor :   What hormones?
Doctor :   Did they indicate the adrenal insufficiency
Doctor :   Did the doctor suggest you the herbal supplements?
User :   i think estrogen,progestrone...... Yes it said i had adrenal fatige. yes to your last question
Doctor :   I am against usage of herbal supplements

Doctor :   If there is a hormonal crisis, those hormones are to be replaced
User :   do you know which hormone is the culprit?
Doctor :   All the hormone deficiencies have the same symptoms
Doctor :   Adrenal, Thyroid
Doctor :   So I suggest you to be referred to an Endocrinologist rather
Doctor :   than wasting time
Doctor :   I would like to know if the BP, Pulse etc are noted
User :   is there one available to chat with?
Doctor :   I am sorry, you can request for an Email from Endocrinologist
User :   they checked all that and it was fine
Doctor :
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Adrenal insufficiency if said by your Gynecologist
User :   ?
Doctor :   should be treated correctly
Doctor :   without losing time
Doctor :   As sometimes it can result in drop in BP, Pulse
Doctor :   Your symptoms seem to be increasing day by day
Doctor :   Since you have two kids and very young lady
Doctor :   you should consider seeing a Endocrinologist or get referred to him
User :   referred to as in on line chat you mean?
Doctor :   No, physical referral
Doctor :   Ofcourse you can write to the Endocrinologist on the specialist panel
Doctor :   and get an answer within 24 hours
User :   by whom? my g.p. just told me to take anti depressant
Doctor :   You can ask your GP to refer as it is evident from the hormonal testing
Doctor :   that there are low hormone levels
User :   he said that since i am still having a period that its not hormonal
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   I just want to know what hormone tests were done and what are their values
Doctor :   Hence I asked at the start of our chat to provide those details
User :   i had blood test for hormones progesterone, thyroid, estrogen and testorone....all came back ok
Doctor :   Very good
Doctor :   Why did your Ob Gyn say you have adrenal problem
Doctor :   Do you mean just by saliva test
User :   yes
Doctor :   Ok the symptoms that you have now are related to your depression, anxiety and panic attacks
Doctor :   especially panic attacks
Doctor :   Panic attacks mimic Hyperthyroid and Cushing's
Doctor :   Hence these hormones are tested
Doctor :   to check for hormonal status
Doctor :   If it is panic attacks and anxiety, you ask your GP to refer you to Psychiatry
Doctor :   As the medicines that you take are not helping you in getting rid of symptoms
User :   i am on lexapro, will that help?
Doctor :   What is the dose
Doctor :   and are you taking the medicine correctly
User :   20mg
User :   yes
Doctor :   Yes it is a good medicine
Doctor :   for depression
Doctor :   But I doubt if it helps in panic attacks
Doctor :   You have different symptoms of anxiety, depression and panic attacks
Doctor :   which can be difficult to treat by a GP
Doctor :   titrating the doses
User :   ?
