User :   Hello. I am a 21 y/o female. I have done a lot of research and still am not sure what is going on. I was in the hospital not too long ago with tachycardia and palpitations. My doc ran some labs checking my metanephrines and did a CT of the abdomen also. He was checking for a pheochromocytoma (since they have the same symptoms I was having). The CT came back negative but the metanephrines came back slightly elevated. I am not stressed or depressed. He has repeated my labs about three times since I have left the hospital. They are still elevated. I went to the cardiologist. He put me on a beta blocker for my heart. I had the repeat labs done before I started the beta blocker. It has help just a little bit, but I am still having episodes of the tachycardia and palpitations. I do have other symptoms: sweat a lot, abnormal menstruals, facial/body hair growth, etc. Do you have any other ideas? I went to an endocrinologist at UAB not too long ago. It cost me $331.00 for him to say "I don't know what is going on with you." Thanks for your help.
