Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   how can i help you
User :   Yesterday, while trying to push a heavy TV, which was on the floor, with the side of my leg I felt a "pulling" pain behind my knee towards the outside of leg (sort of where the upper calf muscle inserts behind the knee). Most activities cause no pain except when I bend and twist the knee at the same time, then I feel a minor sharp pain in that area. Also, going downstairs causes a minor sharp pain in the area as well. Specifically, I am wondering if I can continue doing my workout activities (squats, deadlifts, bike riding) if I can keep my knee from twisting and feel no pain? Or should I avoid certain activities (and which ones, and for how long) even if I don't feel pain?
Doctor :   k 1 second
Doctor :   please provide with your details age gender
Doctor :   how severe is the pain
User :   I am male and 45. It is not sever - very minor.
Doctor :   grade the pain between 1 to 10
User :   I would say 0 when knee are straight - but a 2 when twisting.
Doctor :   does the pain remain always or
User :   It does not remain.
Doctor :   k
Doctor :   did you apply any pain killers or muscle relaxants
User :   No not yet.
Doctor :k it can be due to ligamental tear probably or muscle spasm
Doctor :   anyways i will suggest you to take an muscle relaxant in both oral and local cream form
Doctor :   if it does not reduce then we need to get an X ray done along with examination of the part
Doctor :   for further management
User :   Should I completely stop leg workouts or can I do them if no pain?
Doctor :   better to stop them because if there is any tear of ligaments it can worsen the situation much more
Doctor :   if pain is relieved in 1 or 2 days with the pain killers then you can carry on with your work outs
User :   Ok then. Thanks
Doctor :   ok thanks is there any thing else which i can help you with
User :   No. You have been very helpful - thanks.
Doctor :   thanks for consulting health care magic .. We are available 24/7 in case of any health problems kindly
Doctor :   login
Doctor :   thank you bye for now
