Like with fungal infections, the chances of pain are very rare
Doctor :
It is more common with Herpes and also Bacterial infections
Doctor :
Has she taken any treatment till now for the current complaint?
User :   only the treament for herpes. that treatment is complete and the herpes episode gone for a month now. however, yellow discharge was there before this 1st outbreak and still occurs now quite heavy.
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
And also you have mentioned about the doctor or the medical student spotting an area from where the pain originates
User :   the pain during intercourse may be totally unrelated the yellow discharge.
User :   yes doctor touched the area that was painful.
Doctor :   It could have a relation

Doctor :
and both being independent is not that likely
User :   yes. agreed. just no sure how to tell if related or 2 separate issues
Doctor :   Ok

User :   i understand
Doctor :   Does she have any urinary disturbances?
User :   not that i am aware of.
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :   So for now she should get a vaginal swab
Doctor :
done and bacterial culture/sensitivity would be beneficial
Doctor :
along with a test for fungal infection as well
Doctor :
I would suggest you to consult our Gynecologist to have a better understanding
User :   would this have been done during her STD/STI testing that she had done 2x? We say STI in Australia, but is same thing as STD.

As it has come out negative, there is no need to worry much about it

Doctor :
If you follow the link, you shall be guided to the gynec
