Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   how can i help you ?
User :   Hi, ive had a dull ache which feels just under the cocsyx bone for the last couple of weeks. It seem to go and now its back do u get things wrong in that area?
Doctor :   may i know your age and your occupation ?
User :   31, im a director of my company and have been sat down alot driving and desk work lately.
Doctor :   Do u have any constipation, any redness, discharge around that area ?
User :   No just an annoying ache which im starting to notice more.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Individuals that work in the seated position or drive long distances can develop inflammation of the coxccyx area
Doctor :   and this can present in the form of pain and tenderness
Doctor :   using proper chairs that are ergonomic and with proper support will solve this issue
Doctor :   in addition, if you feel severe and intolerable pain in that region, you might benefit by getting a Xray, just to check for any coccygeal fracture or inflammation
Doctor :   taking ADVIL motrin or tylenol, will help in reduce the inflammatory pain
Doctor :   application of warm packs are also helpful
Doctor :   i hope this answers your questions
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   I have tried to avoid sitting down today to sit if this has been the cause and it seems to be a stinging aching sentation even tho I havent been seated. ive never suffered with anything in this area before, just seems strange how its started
Doctor :   the other issue could be a pilo nidal sinus ( a infection of the hair follicles in that region)
Doctor :   this lesion could produce such symptoms that you have
Doctor :   examination and then removal of the infected tissue will help along with antibiotics
User :   theres nothing to see theres no lesion there just the ache which seems to be at the tip of the cocsyx.
Doctor :   in that case, this is just pain due to constant pressure and inflammation
Doctor :   try applying a betamethasone cream to that area
Doctor :   this will reduce the inflammation
Doctor :   also try to use soft pillows on the chair while u sit
Doctor :   and take NSAIDs like advil to reduce the pain
Doctor :   this will help your symptoms
Doctor :   if they do not subside, you might see your doctor, who can examine, and diagnose the exact problem
Doctor :   are u there ?
