User :   I had an IUI on 02/11/2010, starting on this thursday I started having right groin pain, no rebound tenderness or noticable swelling. I do not have a fever, I went to see my reporductive endo and had an ultrasound done and it only showed a 2cm cyst on my right ovary, everything else was negative. Dr. did not have a diagnosis for me. Now it is Saturday and my pain is constant and getting worse. Still no fever, swelling or rebound tenderness.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
Let me read it to be able to answer
Doctor :
So you are on Infertility treatment , Is it not?
Doctor :
You had first IUI ( Intrauterine insemination) in Nov
User :   yes, I am taking Prometrium 200mg tid now
Doctor :   The cyst might not cause severe pain though
Doctor :
What is the severity of the pain on a scale of 1 to 10
User :   My first IUI was on 02/11/2010, I have had very large cyst before and never had any pain, now my pain is about a 6-7
Doctor :   Ok, This 11th Feb you have the pain
Doctor :   after the IUI procedure
User :   I had the IUI on the 11th, the pain did not start until the 18th
Doctor :
How many scans done after the IUI?
User :   the only tests I have had done was an ultrasound and a pelvic exam on the 18th by my reproductive endo
Doctor :   is it continous pain or the intermittent pain?
User :   it is continuous pain in the right groin region and it does not appear to radiate anywhere
Doctor :   Is the pain corresponding to the side of the cyst?

Doctor :
Doctor :
You have already mentioned that
User :   yes, but I have had cysts as large a 6cm in diameter and never had any pain
Doctor :
Did the Doctor see any other abnormality during scan?
User :   he stated everything else was normal, the ovary size was normal and there did not appear to be any twisting of the follpion tube and he stated tubal pregnancy would be to early to cause the pain so he said the pain was gyno, but the pain will not go away
User :   sorry, he said the pain was NOT gyno, I had a mis-type
Doctor :
Sometimes the ovulation can cause the pain
Doctor :
Did he respond anything about that
User :   He said I had already ovulated, I had two mature follicles on the right ovary and one on the left, the only follicle that did not provide an egg was the one that turned into a cyst
Doctor :   My Opinion: This is not to be concerned about
Doctor :   Everything is going very fine for you
User :   Could this be pain related to a possible pregancy that may be taking place at this time
Doctor :
But I do not have a right answer why did you not have a pain when you had 6 cm cyst
Doctor :   They are called asymptomatic cysts

Doctor :
and are traced as a by chance finding
Doctor :   The conception of the egg and the sperm could have taken place, and implanted
Doctor :   on the right side
Doctor :
of the abdomen
User :   So that would not be a vialbe pregnancy, would it have to be removed or would my body absorb it if this is what is happening
Doctor :
It could be a viable pregnancy
Doctor :
Did you check with a pregnancy test
Doctor :   UPT helps in knowing whether you are pregnant or not?

User :   Yes, but the doctor said because of the Ovidrel I took in order to ovulate that it could be a false posative, what is UPT
Doctor :
That is Urine preg test
Doctor :   In that case, Beta HCG blood test is done
Doctor :
once in every 48 hours to see if the Serum Beta HCG hormone is doubling
Doctor :
IF it is doubling the pregnancy is continuing well
User :   I got a very faint second line which may indicate a pregnancy, but I was not sure how accurate it was the HCG was done in the office on the 18th, but this is the test he said may be a false posative, it did show I was pregnant, but he said would not be accurate until the 25th which would be this next thursday
User :   I told him about the urine test I took at home and that is why he did a blood test on the 18th when I was there for the pain
Doctor :
Yeah it is good to wait for 2 weeks
Doctor :
post IUI
Doctor :
IUI is a relatively safe procedure
Doctor :
it has some risk of minor cramping, bleeding
Doctor :
We could relate to IUI also
User :   I appreciate your time and knowledge, thank you very much, I will just bear the pain and hope that I am pregnant and this is just a benign pain.
Doctor :
Since I am Family Practitioner I suggest you to take our Infertility Specialist opinion as part of second opinion
Doctor :   Did you get the link of the Infertility specialist
Doctor :
He is well known in this part of the world
Doctor :
You can write to him
User :   yes, just now, thank you very much
Doctor :
Is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   no, thank you, thanks again
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form say done when done.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :
Bye for now
Doctor :
Have a good day
