Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Dr XXX here
Doctor :   How can i help you ?
User :   I have a question on my mother health
User :   she has been diagonised with ovarian cyst
Doctor :   please proceed
User :   the cyst is of the size about 4000 cc, pretty big
Doctor :   ok,
User :   the ultrascan imression is something like this...
User :   "huge pelvi-abdominal complex septated cystic SOL
Doctor :   ok,
User :   (228mmx 152mmx229mm)
User :   "borderline hepatomegaly with diffuse fatty infiltration"
Doctor :   ok,
User :   "few tiny cholelithiasis"
User :   but she has no pain etc
User :   only big bulge below the stomach
User :   how do you think it is?
User :   what should be done?
Doctor :   Ok, the cyst appears to be a serous cystadenoma , which is a benign type of tumor , which has to be surgically removed
Doctor :   and the though the chances of recurrence are there but they are less
User :   is surgery minor or major? will the uterus also to be removed?
User :   she is 55 yrs old
Doctor :   it can be well dealt by a gynecologist or a surgical oncologist
Doctor :   its a major surgery and 55 years is not a problem
User :   is biopsy necessary?
Doctor :   and there is no need of removing the uterus
Doctor :   but there always is a choice
Doctor :   yes, the tumor biopsy is taken after removing the tumor mass surgically , it is to study the tumor in detail and to rule out malignant cancer
User :   about Liver scan the report says "marginally enlarged with diffusely increased echogenecity"
Doctor :   and Cystic SOL means Space Occupying Lesion
User :   what does that mean?
User :   ok
Doctor :   the live is ok , and is showing age related changes
Doctor :   SOL means any mass occupying space
Doctor :   liver*
User :   so if we do surgical removal of the cyst there is no other side effect , right?
Doctor :   no,
User :   any lifestyle changes required?
Doctor :   may be needed like exercise of the abdominal muscles as they would have become lax due to stretching due to the tumor
User :   any dietary changes
Doctor :   and also to reduce the fat in the diet considering the changes in the liver and the cholelitiasis
Doctor :   cholelithiasis means stones in the gall bladder
User :   scan report also says " few tiny calculi are noted in the lumen of gall bladder"
Doctor :   that is nothing but cholelitiaiss
Doctor :   cholelithiasis*
User :   does it need to be operated also to remove the stones from gall bladder?
Doctor :   no, since they are tiny
Doctor :   they get dissolved by diet modification like low carb and low fat food
Doctor :   Is there anything else i can help you with ?
User :   thank you doctor
User :   bye
