User :   My daughter, 20 years old, is taking typhoid oral vaccine. She took it daily for the last 4 days including today. We just realized she was supposed to skip a day in between. What side effects could happen? She feels alright so far. Thanks for your help - we are worried about any potential health problems.
Doctor :   hi
User :   Hello

Doctor :   let me read what you have typed
User :   Thank you
Doctor :   if she has not developed any symptoms uptil now, she should be fine
Doctor :   look out for any vomiting, nausea, fever
User :   that is a relief
User :   will she have developed immunity though?
User :   She is leaving for in 2 weeks
Doctor :   look out for any skin rash , headache, breathing or swallowing difficulty, itching, swelling of face/eyes, sudden and severe tiredness.
Doctor :   some amount immunity would have developed.
Doctor :   she can take repeat vaccine about one month later if she does not have any of symptoms
User :   she has been somewhat lethargic last couple of days
Doctor :   if the antibody titers are fine, then it would mean that she has developed immunity, if not, then she has to take repeat vaccine.
Doctor :   some amount of lethargy is not to be worried about
Doctor :   if she develops any further symptoms
Doctor :   do not delay visit to her doctor
Doctor :   and get examination done

User :   yes, I am not sure though what you meant about the antibody titers

Doctor :   due to vaccine effect
User :   is that done through a blood test?
Doctor :   yes, it is done through blood test
Doctor :   and can be done in any standard lab
User :   that is very helpful to know
Doctor :   is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   you have been very helpful - just to confirm..the blood test will tell if she has developed immunity or not..if she has to repeat dosage, would you suggest she gets the shot?
Doctor :   yes the shot would be better option than oral this time
Doctor :   if she has not developed immunity
