Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
How can I help you?
User :   hello
User :   I wanted to ask you about if there are any pills that work as a male contraceptive?
Doctor :
There are no pills that work as male contraceptives
User :   I hear medications like rapaflo (silodosin) work to stop ejaculation while not effecting hormone levels and sexual abilities
Doctor :
The only male contraceptives yet are condoms
Doctor :
look the use of Rapaflo is for treatment of Bening prostatic hypertrophy
Doctor :   Using this medicine the side effect is no orgasm and no sperm
Doctor :
So if there is problem in achieving the orgasm then you do not have satisfaction
User :   my reasoning is because my fiancee is currently on femcon. however it leaves a 1% chance of pregnancy, and her sister had gotten pregnant when on birth control a couple years ago. so she always has me use a condom.. but the condom ends up effecting my ability to keep an erection.... sometimes I end up going flaccid due prior to ejaculation due to the condom. what can be done to assure that there will be no pregnancy? one option I said that she wasn't sure about would be if she also took an emergency contraceptive like plan b after sex and if we also used the today sponge.. would this stop any chance of pregnancy?
Doctor :
Plan B contraceptive can stop pregnancy
Doctor :
and there is no contraceptive that can stop pregnancy 100%
Doctor :
the best yet known to mankind is Birth control pills
Doctor :
which is near to 99%
User :   I know 99% is such a higher percentage.. and the only reason these companies don't say 100% is to cover themselves legally in the offset chance of pregnancy... but my fiancee does not see things this way, especially after her sister.
Doctor :   You have to settle with this percentages

User :   so what if she took plan b while on femcon... would there be any kind of reaction between the two? and will it lessen the chances even more? because I thought when on birth control there is no ehh even produced.
User :   *egg
Doctor :
No effect
Doctor :
It cannot reduce the chances further
Doctor :
The BCP is the best possible contraception
User :   is there an egg even produced when on birth control?
Doctor :
Actually the ovulation is suppressed if on Femcon
User :   so no egg would be produced to even become fertilized by any sperm? correct?
Doctor :
User :   and one last question, would you still recommend the use of a condom when on femcon anyway or do you find it harmless to get rid of the condom?
Doctor :
it is a obstructive way of making the sperm not to reach ovum the other way is hormonal
Doctor :   So with Femcon the ovulation stops, with condom the sperm does not reach the Uterus

Doctor :   We tell the patients to use one contraceptive, the condom can prevent the std's also to some extent

Doctor :
so it is good to have both if it is not cumbersome
User :   we are both clean of any stds fortunately.
Doctor :
User :   so strictly with birth control in mind, a condom would not be necessary due to the lack of an egg being present for the sperm to actually fertilize... correct?
Doctor :
User :   so in the case of her sister... are there bcp that allow ovulation?
Doctor :   No

Doctor :
That is why it is an unwanted pregnancy
Doctor :
and this is legal to abort the baby at any time
User :   now I know there's no way for you to tell me for a fact... but what could have caused her to ovulate and become pregnant when on a birth control pill?
Doctor :
Failed contraception is the first indication of abortion for Doctor
Doctor :
I think this question is for a specialist in Gynecology / Infertility
User :   alright then. thank you very much for your help and knowledge!
Doctor :
Is there anything else I can help you with?
User :   that is all. with less than a minute left :) thanks again!
Doctor :
Please feel free to ask me questions on general health
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :
Bye for now
