Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I am Dr
Doctor :   How can I help you ?
User :   Hi Doc, this is here
Doctor :   HI
User :   I hve a 5 month old son. I am joining office from next week. what foods can I give him
Doctor :   Please proceed with the query.
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   May I know the weight of the baby ?
User :   8 kg
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   How are the milestones and the activity of the baby ?
User :   normal
Doctor :   Very good.
Doctor :   When the baby is doing so well and milestones are fine , i would detest you from anything other than Breast feed.
Doctor :   As breast milk should be the only feed till 6 months.
Doctor :   You have products which can extract and store breast milk for 8 hrs. which is the best feed and nothing next to it is even good.
Doctor :   Hope you are following.
User :   yes
User :   but if i want to start then with what shld I start with
Doctor :   After 6 months I would suggest you to start some weaning foods that could be helpful but again it would be better to give breast feeds intermittently.
Doctor :   1. Ragi powder which is Organically grown can be boiled in water , mixed with milk or tur dal ( boiled to paste) with sugar or jaggery.
Doctor :   2. Please use Seven grain mix from which is organically grown and boil it to paste and mix it with sugar and milk.
Doctor :   Hoe you are following.
User :   yup
Doctor :   I would not say no to Cerelac or but these Organically grown and home made foods would be more helpful.
User :   wat exactly is seven grain mix
User :   also frm what u hve mentioned, it is ok to add salt, sugar, water coz there are varied opinions on the same
Doctor :   It has wheat,ragi,jowar,bajra,millet,rice.oats.
Doctor :   Babies usually do not like foods with salt at this age.
Doctor :   Anything with sugar is liked by them.
Doctor :   And they almost feed on anything with sugar or sweet init.
User :   ya, but internet has all types of artciles not to add sugar or water
Doctor :   3.Also fruits like banana , apple and peaches or pears properly mashed mixed with boiled milk would be helpful.
User :   also can I give mixed veg soup ( tomota, spinach, beet, carrot) or juice ( apple, chikko)
Doctor :   Water is an usual cause of contamination , so that is the reason for fear of using water, but if properly boiled water and is clean than no issue about that.
Doctor :   All the vegetables also have to be given together with any cereal like rice or wheat, not just alone or with mashed potatoes and boiled properly and mashed to a paste.
Doctor :   Start weaning with more diets which are sweet and slowly switch over to salty diets like dals and cereals with a little amount of salt.
Doctor :   As milk has some amount of sweetness due to Lactose a sugary carbohydrate, Babies start weaning fast if given anything sweet initially.
Doctor :   Hope you are following ?
User :   ya
User :   any store u recommend for organic stuff
User :   any food to aoid totally
User :   meant avoid
Doctor :   And my most important suggestion would be again to stress that babies below 6 months are sensitive to Gluten a protein in wheat ,etc.So please start weaning slowly after 6 months with fruit and vegetable and rice paste initially and slowly then switch over to wheat or etc.
User :   yup
Doctor :   If you use any market products please see if any preservatives have been used to increase the shelf life, Please avoid such products totally for the baby.
User :   u hve been very specific else docs put all caveats and are confusing. thnx for ur guidance!!
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me.
User :   thnx
Doctor :   I have a 5 month old baby and that is the reason that I can see your good self in my shoes or vice-versa.
Doctor :   Take care, Bye for now.
User :   :)). bye
Doctor :   Bye.
