User:Hi, I have a question re: possible lymph node in groin area
Doctor:please proceed with your query
User:I'm 23 yr old female, no current issues except allergies
User:recently noticed a bump about a cm long in the area of my groin, below the hip
User:it is movable, and not sure how long it has been there
User:I only noticed because I injured the muscles in that area when I was skiing
Doctor:Do you have any pain in that area?
User:but the actual bump itself does not hurt
User:just the muscles taht I hurt skiing
Doctor:or do you have any sore/wound in your leg?
User:i don't think so
Doctor:when did you get hurt?
User:about a week and a half ago
User:i am a hypochondriac so i worry about lymphoma
Doctor:Okay, In the groin there are many groups of lymph nodes which are normal
Doctor:and in any condition which causes any amount of inflammation in the area which is drained by these lymph nodes, these nodes get enlarged and even tender
Doctor:So it is nothing to worry.
User:ok i was not sure if a muscle injury could cause that
Doctor:even without inflammation, one or two of these lymph nodes could easily be felt
User:i get all of my scheduled pelvic exams, physicals, etc and never had a doctor say anything about it
Doctor:because most likely it just normal
User:that's very reassuring, thank you
Doctor:You are welcome. Next time you visit your doctor, bring it to his/her notice
Doctor:nothing more to do as of now
User:so it's not a rush to go get into the office?
Doctor:if at all you feel it is getting bigger and harder or tender then you need to make sure that it is looked at by your doctor
Doctor:No, you do not have to rush.
User:Thank you so much!
Doctor:You are welocome.
User:Have a great day
Doctor:is there something else you would want to discuss?
Doctor:thank you for consulting me, have a great evening
