Noticed movable bump on groin area. Worried for lymphoma - Online Doctor Chats
please proceed with your query
I'm 23 yr old female, no current issues except allergies
recently noticed a bump about a cm long in the area of my groin, below the hip
it is movable, and not sure how long it has been there
I only noticed because I injured the muscles in that area when I was skiing
Do you have any pain in that area?
but the actual bump itself does not hurt
just the muscles taht I hurt skiing
or do you have any sore/wound in your leg?
i don't think so
when did you get hurt?
about a week and a half ago
i am a hypochondriac so i worry about lymphoma
Okay, In the groin there are many groups of lymph nodes which are normal
and in any condition which causes any amount of inflammation in the area which is drained by these lymph nodes, these nodes get enlarged and even tender
So it is nothing to worry.
even without inflammation, one or two of these lymph nodes could easily be felt
i get all of my scheduled pelvic exams, physicals, etc and never had a doctor say anything about it
because most likely it just normal
that's very reassuring, thank you
You are welcome. Next time you visit your doctor, bring it to his/her notice
nothing more to do as of now
so it's not a rush to go get into the office?
if at all you feel it is getting bigger and harder or tender then you need to make sure that it is looked at by your doctor
No, you do not have to rush.
Thank you so much!
You are welocome.
Have a great day
is there something else you would want to discuss?
thank you for consulting me, have a great evening
