User :   Hello Doctors: My mate has been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am concerned if I have an unknown HPV status I may be blame. It is my understanding that HPV is known to cause throat cancer but not NHLymphoma. Could she actually have throat cancer that spread to NHLymphoma even though she was dianosed with NHL?
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   I am here
User :   ok
Doctor :   throat cancer is different from NHL
User :   could throat cancer spread to cause NHL?
Doctor :   Throat cance sepeare causes
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   NHL is lYmphome
Doctor :   itis lymphocycte lymphnode disease
Doctor :   Throat cance rislocal cancer
Doctor :   Throat cance is local cancer
User :   but aren't lymphnodes in the throat susceptible to throat cancer? Or would throat the doctors label that "throat cancer that spread to lymphnodes" rather than "NHL"?
Doctor :   throat cancer is local. The cancer can spread to local lymphnodes . is the cancer spreads to local lymphnodes,it is not NHL
Doctor :   On the other hand , NHL has just presents with rubbery lymphnodes without any thoat cancer
User :   I see. thankyou. Would it be safe to say, after testing and her being in the beginning stages of chemo, it is unlikely the doctors would have missed seeing any local throat cancers while she was being diagnosed
User :   ?
Doctor :   You are great
Doctor :   You are about to emind a Oncologist that he/she might missed thoat cancer
Doctor :   is that right?
Doctor :   *remind
User :   no no...
Doctor :   Any cancer hs very bad presentation
Doctor :   It cause bad symptoms
Doctor :   it is in throat
Doctor :   ...
Doctor :   it cause salivation, difficulty swallwng
Doctor :   She wil complain the symptoms
Doctor :   but still Oncologist will examine the Larynx
Doctor :   It is ok
Doctor :   if you can tell them to make sure thorat is ok
User :   So it is safe to say with a clear NHL diagnosis, t is unlikely that throat cancer would be overlooked? I will ask to be sure. I would imagine since it is certain that her lymphnodes has signs of cancer, a throat cancer would be pretty pronounced?
Doctor :   what do u mean by ? I would imagine since it is certain that her lymphnodes has signs of cancer, a throat cancer would be pretty pronounced?
Doctor :   u means she throat cancer
Doctor :   u means she has throat cancer
Doctor :   the statements are contradictory
Doctor :   So it is safe to say with a clear NHL diagnosis, t is unlikely that throat cancer would be overlooked? This is right
User :   i am sorry Dr. Thankyou for being patient. Her diagnosis is NHL with evidence of cancer in her lymphnodes. We are trying to guess the cause of the lymphnoid cancer. We have no reason to believe she has throat cancer. But maybe if I caused her throat cancer via HPV; it would have spread to cause her NHL
Doctor :   You causing HPV infection iinfection in throat and this caising thoat cancer
Doctor :   You can prove that
User :   no no
User :   I don't know how she got NHL. I was wondering if I had HPV if that would be to blame somehow.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   you causing HPV and then NHL , u can not prove
User :   so that seems very unlikely then?
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   In most cases, people diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma don't have any obvious risk factors, and many people who have risk factors for the disease never develop it. Some factors that may increase the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma include: Doctor :   Medications that suppress your immune system.
Doctor :   Infection with certain viruses and bacteria. Certain viral and bacterial infections appear to increase the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Viruses linked to increased non-Hodgkin's lymphoma risk include HIV, hepatitis C virus and Epstein-Barr virus. Bacteria linked to an increased risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma include the ulcer-causing Helicobacter pylori.
Doctor :   Chemicals. Certain chemicals, such as those used to kill insects and weeds, may increase your risk of developing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. More research is needed to understand the possible link between pesticides and the development of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Doctor :   But most cases have no reasons
User :   so HPV isn't really a factor with NHL
User :   ?
Doctor :   association possible
