User :   Hi! I'm a 18 year old female who played basketball for 6 years until this past January when I began having knee pain in my right knee. After two weeks of sitting out from what we thought was a MCL strain I still had pain. I began going to physical therapy twice a week, where I was soon diagnosed with patelloformal syndrome. I am still going to therapy, but my pain seems to be getting worse, not better. I have also began playing softball recently. Is this pain normal or should I be concerned and go to a orthopedic surgeon? I know there are surgeries even though they are a last resort..but I'm scared I am at my last resort. Thanks!

Doctor :   have u undergone orthopedic consultation for this
User :   No I have not. I have just gone by what my family doctor thinks as well as my physical therapist. Since it has been so long since I started therapy and the pain is the same, I wasn't sure if I should go see a orthopedic doctor or continue going to therapy and see what happens.
Doctor :   we advice u consultation
