User :   Hi, My baby is 1 week old and he is crying every night too much. Can i give colimex for 1 week baby ?

User :   he sleeps if we lie him with his tummy down

User :   His mother was having too much pain while feeding.

User :   Milk was not flowing too much since all pores were not open. But now the milk flow is good

User :   we gave the milk powder yesterday and day before that. he did not cry.
User :   yesterday night we just gave breast milk and also today no milk powder
User :   but he is crying today night as well
Doctor :   the basic reason why babys cry is to seek comfort and attention seeking
Doctor :   or the other reason is he is hungry
User :   he cries uncontrollably.

Doctor :   and then comfort him and help him burp well
User :   mother keeps feeding him for hours but he still starts crying after we feed him
Doctor :   keep him against the upper arm and massage his tummy and back to help the excess gas to get out
User :   he is not getting enough long sleep at night.

Doctor :   the reason he is crying , is due to collection of gas inside the stomach, that he swallows along with the feeds

Doctor :   proper burping will help to relieve the discomfort
Doctor :   and then he will stop crying as soon as his discomfort reduces
User :   We keep him in the arms for sometime after feed. He burps as well. but since he does not sleep after lifting him for burp, we sometimes do not lift him after feed when he gets sleep

User :   We do know how to burp a baby

Doctor :   you have to keep him up for some times after feeding so that the feeds move into his intestine

Doctor :   if not , they will remain in the stomach causing distress
User :   When we do that and then lie him down, he if not comfortable and starts crying and wants to feed more.
Doctor :   if this does not work, then you can give him colimex drops
User :   is it safe and ok ?
